Google’s Open Handset Alliance & Android mobile phone software

Following on from the story this morning about a official announcement about the GPhone, Google have now released a press release which does contain some interesting information to do with their new cell phone venture. The Google Open Handset Alliance that will include Google Inc, HTC, Motorola, Qualcomm and many others will work in conjunction with Android mobile phone software platform.
They were only just a few in the alliance but there are many more including Aplix, Ascender Corporation, Audience, Broadcom, China Mobile, eBay, Esmertec, Google, HTC, IntelKDDI, LivingImage, LG, Marvell, Motorola, NMS Communications, Noser, NTT DoCoMo, Inc., Nuance, Nvidia, PacketVideo, Qualcomm, Samsung, SiRF, SkyPop, SONiVOX, Sprint Nextel, Synaptics, TAT - The Astonishing Tribe, Telecom Italia, Telefónica, Texas Instruments, T-Mobile, Wind River.
