Microsoft Windows Vista: mass adoption from businesses

Microsoft Windows Vista
Not long after Microsoft’s Windows Vista was launched I upgraded right away and although I had a few little problems the new OS is much better than Windows XP in my opinion.

With friends and family not upgrading yet as they wanted to wait for the first Vista service pack (which is a good idea), but now Microsoft Corp has reported that businesses are starting to adopt the new operating system in the masses.

They also went on to say that they are expecting a “strong first holiday season for the product”.

As an early Vista buyer I can understand why many users have complained about the lack of compatibility with existing software and devices.

Now many months on it looks like things are changing with businesses starting to move over, but I would also like to here from home users.

How many of you have Vista installed?

What a lie, everyone, I know, who has purchased Vista has moved back to XP. Vista is the new ME.

Dario, how can someone’s opinion be a lie? And please not the usual boring rubbish about Windows Me. I’ve been using it on my main computer for seven years and it’s a great lean system that runs fast and is very stable in its final form. It also pioneered concepts like system restore and plug and play. There is absolutely no documented evidence of genuine problems with Windows Me - just check Wikipedia.

I have a five year old XP PC that is giving me crash and other problems. I am ready to replace the old PC, but I am not going to replace it with a system full of compatibility issues that will cause me all kinds of stress and time trying to resolve them, not to mention added expense. Thinking about getting XP in a new system but don’t like going backwards because MS can’t get it right before release.

Come on, wake up and smell the Windows! How could you even compare Vista to Millenium edition? I will agree on some software not being compatible for NOW. But so far, I personally haven’t run into any big enough snags to worry about it. If you have software that is pre-XP, you should probably consider getting something newer. Besides, if you really have to keep XP for backwards software, why not just run it in VMware or VirtualBox? You could even run XP on a Mac if you desired. Geez, snap out of it.
