Elvis was only big on his day because America refused to embrace the black artists in his era, African American rhythm-and-blues performers of the late 1940s were completely marginalised, remember we’re talking about the period of segregation where most RADIO STATION REFUSED TO PLAY WHAT THEY CALLED ‘NEGRO MUSIC’

I’m not saying Elvis wasn’t talented (and lets all pretend he didn’t outright plagiarise or as he called it get ‘inspired by black music’) he was performing during a time when there wasn’t an even playing field, when his black counterparts were unfairly handicapped.
How can Elvis be regarded as the greatest of HIS TIME (let alone off all time) when his competitors were
not even allowed to play in many venues,
or have their music aired on radio stations,
or tour in Southern states,
or promte their music
Michael Jackson on the other broke records left, right and centre purely on his talent with everyone else being allowed to compete!!

HE IS BIGGER THAN THE BEATLES AND ELVIS PRESLEY COMBINED ON A WORLDWIDE SCALE.
I have been to almost every country in the world. There are places where they wouldn’t even know who Elvis or The Beatles are but Michael is known and loved in every single part of the planet, literally!
I think Michael is the best.

You know mike is tha BEST. Elvis can’t be compared. No one listens to Elvis anymore, he was ‘good’ in his own time. I am from Holland. And we did a contest with MJ fans and Elvis fans. And the Elvis fans here can’t even sing one song! they have all forgotten the words… Now name one song of Mike. Thriller..beat it.. even if you where locked up in some box you can sing those songss… MIKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE is tha best…Just live with it. Elvis Time is over…Michael jackson music lives forever!!

99% of tha world knows mike. Who is Elvis again??
This new generation (esp. after the 70’s) has no idea how famous and popular Elvis was. People who were born after the 80’s grew up in the MJ era. Both had their moments. Both gave the world a new wave of music. Both had their styles. MJ with his moonwalk and shiny clothes. EP with his amazing hair (which was new to the world at his time) and jumpsuits. EP is the king of rock and MJ is the king of pop. Both are kings, it’s quite hard to compare them.
I’d also like to mention that Madison1989 is the typical stereotype person the world just doesn’t need.
