LET`S BE HONEST HERE. MICHAEL JACSON AS A SINGER PALED IN COMPARRISON TO ELVIS PRESLEY, JACKSON SOUNDED THE SAME ON EVERYTHING HAD HIS HIGH PITCHED GIRLY VOICE. ELVIS PRESLEY`S RANGE WAS INCREDIBLE. ELIVS WALKED
ON STAGE AND EXCITIED THE CROWND FOR HIMSELF, HE DIDN`T NEED FIREWORKS DISPALY`S AND EXPLODING SCOREBOARDS BEHIND HIM. AS A PERSON, HE HAD HIS WEAKNESS`S YES, OVER TAKING HIS MEDICATION, no question. HOWEVER, HE CERTAINLY WASN`T PLAYING WITH LITTLE KIDS, NOW THE BLACK COMMUNITY IS EMBRACING JACKSON, UNTIL HE DIED THEY DIDNT WANT HAVE ANYTHING TO WITH HIM, HE TURNED HIMSELF WHITE. LET`S FACE IT MICHAEL JACKSON WAS TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE, BORN A LITTLE BLACK BOY NAD ENDED UP LOOKING LIKE AN OLD WHITE TRANSVESTITE.
Let me say this…
They were both great performers but lets take a look at who did what first.
Michael is known for going up on his toes (like he does in the Billy Jean video)…Elvis did the same thing, just first.
After traveling the world Michael gathered fans from every corner of the globe…Elvis did the same thing, just first but never performed outside of North America.
The famous wardrobe of Michael is just a newer, modernized version of Elvis’ rhinestone jumpsuits and gold jackets.
Oh! and for all you “know it all’s” as for Michael and his black pants and white socks, I dare you to checkout “Elvis Presley-hound dog-1956″ or any other footage you can find from that time….YES my friends! Elvis wore the famous “Michael Jackson” black pants and white socks…he just wore them first.
Elvis could sing! and you have to be fair and factor in the difference of era and time in which they performed. Elvis could sing any song and sing it better than the original artist. -FACT-
Michael is known for choreographing his own dance moves. Check out “Jail House Rock” Elvis choreographed the dance scene for the song of the same title.
It’s weird that Michael could sell-out concerts in England but couldn’t find a place that would let him perform in Vegas. Elvis sold out 100’s of concerts in Vegas.
It was Michael and his people that coined the phrase “King of Pop” because he wanted the respect Elvis has.
Michael is known for the movies…Oh! wait a sec! Michael didn’t make any movies. Elvis did over 30 movies (like them or not that’s nothing to overlook)
Even the way they died (God rest their souls) both before their times, both under great controversy. i don’t mean this to be rude in anyway but…Elvis did it first.
Michael is known for his Music, dance moves, HONEST love for children, plastic surgery, and in some circles for his charity.
Elvis is known for his Music, his voice, being able to perform songs in different languages and sound just as awesome, dance moves, his love for Cadillacs, Graceland, his charity, his movies, sideburns, rhinestone jumpsuits, playing the guitar and piano, fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches, Vegas, I could go on and on.
No matter how you look at it…Elvis is KING! That’s why everyone (including Michael) will be compared to him.
This of course, is my opinion and in no way was it intended to upset anyone…in fact I love Michael. I think he was an awesome performer and person. I am sad to see him go and hope that he is now at peace and happy.
Elvis did absolutely nothing for black people other than being influence by black music and convert it into his own style that appeal to white folks (research who listens to rock music the most).Micheal on the other hand had a wider audience {mostly white} and he sang “The Motown Sound”. To be honest i have never heard an Elvis song in my life{no kidding i live in the Caribbean}.In The End the 2 are Legends in their own right and will live on Forever.
PS Their both better than anything else thats being put out now.
haha…Elvis stole \”black\” music? How is it stealing if that\’s what you grow up with and all you know?
But if this is true, did Michael then steal the moon-walk? cuz they were doing it in the \”black\” streets before Micheal used it on stage…and as far as I know Michael didn\’t grow up in or around the streets
Michael Jackson…
Took Music to a whole new level that no other artist can compare to whether they came before or after. He had pure talent, a genius & a natural at his craft. Michael has an amazing voice, was electrifying as an entertainer, & as for style well he definitely knew how to stand out. Michael in the 80’s was sexy but I definitely would give the sexiest title to Elvis cause he was sure something to look at.
Michael Jackson
Greater Than Elvis
Bigger than the Beatles
The best there was
The best there is
& The best there ever will be…
Rest Easy King of Pop
Michael Jackson wins. His music, dance moves and philantropy win me over. Elvis was a racist against mexicans!
michael jackson
there is only one king it’s ELVIS PRESLEY before ELVIthere was nothing , Elvis had a best voice of the world
MICHAEL JACKSON I THE BEST!!!
EVEEEEER!!! Wathever you say
Elvis was only big on his day because America refused to embrace the black artists in his era, African American rhythm-and-blues performers of the late 1940s were completely marginalised, remember we’re talking about the period of segregation where most RADIO STATION REFUSED TO PLAY WHAT THEY CALLED ‘NEGRO MUSIC’
Little Richard, for instance, was once quoted as saying, “Elvis was paid $25,000 for doing three songs in a movie and I only got $5,000, and if it wasn’t for me, Elvis would starve.” And, after hearing Presley’s version of the song “Trouble,” blues legend Muddy Waters thought it sounded an awful lot like his recording of “Hootchie Coochie Man.” “I better watch out,” he concluded. “I believe whitey’s pickin’ up on things that I’m doin’.”
Helen Kolawole claimed, “Black music never stays underground. White people always seek it out, dilute it and eventually claim it as their own … This is fine, but be honest about it.”
