    1. Elvis can sing, and he can sing well, but Michael is definitely has the better voice out of the two.

    2. Michael Jackson is the king of entertaining and putting on a show, but I think Elvis was the better entertainer as he definied the way modern pop music is presented and performed - he really raised the bar!

    3. Michael has had a lot of surgery and to be honest i don’t think many people would disagree with me that he looks pretty scary now. Elvis, was gorgeous! Young Elvis was definitely the sexiest

    4. Hmm the last question is a tough one, do I go for the rhinestone cowboy look or the tin foil robot look? Both of them were definitely eccentric in the wardrobe department but I’d have to go for Michael Jackson as being the most stylish.

Without a doubt Elvis wins hands down in all categories.

He had a magnificent voice and could sing in any musical genre he cared to try. He was not limited to pop music.

He was the world’s greatest entertainer and his act is still the most copied worldwide.

Elvis was the sexiest entertainer EVER and also the best looking.

Elvis set many trends for style including haircut, sideburns, high collars, and jum suits.

  3. Gary Canton on November 1st, 2007 4:59 pm

I’m with Brian Quinn Elvis all the way.Michael Jackson was good 20 years ago infact i seen him live but i wouldn’t go to see him now if he was performing in my back garden.
Elvis may have been gone 30 years but he is more popular now than he ever was. They don’t call him the King of Rock And Roll for nothing.

  4. Maurice Colgan on November 1st, 2007 5:41 pm

Yes Elvis was the the greater of the two voice, on stage and in movies Elvis’s charisma was incomparable.
Just ask all the ladies about Elvis as a sex symbol.
Elvis influenced a whole generation of teenagers in the 50s and his sense of style is legendary.

The 30th Anniversary make it all so self evident, Elvis remains the stand alone Icon of the era.

  5. laura on November 1st, 2007 5:43 pm

Elvis wins thats why he is the king not just a prince
his voice was and is fantastic he could sing anything

elvis was an alround entertainer his songs appealed to everyone he did the best with the tecnology at the time his showes were amazing

the look well it has to be elvis he wasn’t multi coloured and he didn’t have all the surgery

elvis was a style setter he was flash and although jackson was a bit flamboyant himself
elvis is and will always be the king

  6. laura on November 1st, 2007 5:50 pm

just to add the dance moves that jacko had were coppied slightly from the ones elvis had in the 50’s elvis is the most impersonated person in the world he has the better overall package without elvis i don’t think there would have been a jacko elvis kicked down that door not just in music but in peoples acceptance for entertainers he shocked and revolutionised the music world it may be30 years but elvis is still rocking where as jacko is well no one knows

  7. Toy on November 1st, 2007 5:57 pm

Michael Jackson, hands down in all catagories.

Whatever you may say about his face and surgery, he crafted over the years what he wanted to look like.

His stage shows are packed full of mad energy that wears out the viewer or attendee.

Michael had a better voice simply because he is able to adapt it to any style, be it, Rock, RnB, Pop, Soul, Disco.

Michael was the first who’s name was a company alone. Michael’s sense of style, the outfits, everything was seen as being “Him”. If you wore black trousers and white sock, people think “Michael Jackson”. Michael is entertainment.

  8. Kwick on November 1st, 2007 6:28 pm

    How can anyone doubt? Elvis!!!!

  9. Dave on November 1st, 2007 7:04 pm

There just isn’t any comparison! Elvis just stands out alone in all categories. Without dought, the greatest entertainer and force within entertainment of the 20th and 21st centuries! He will never be equalled, but will always be imitated and impersonated.

  10. sue daly on November 1st, 2007 7:18 pm

No question - Elvis is the best on all accounts no one can equal him and never will

  11. CP on November 1st, 2007 7:24 pm

    ELVIS, ELVIS, ELVIS, ELVIS

  12. Andrew C on November 1st, 2007 7:26 pm

Elvis totally changed popular music and culture, he is still widely remembered 30 years after his death, he could sing anything, rock, blues, ballads, country, pop and even opera and he was the first person who could be recognised by his first name alone,h looked like a Greek God and was a genuinely decent person as well!

by the way, if anybody wore white socks and black pants I would think fashion disaster and not M.Jackson!

  13. Rene (El)Vos on November 1st, 2007 7:41 pm

    Elvis all the way,off course!

The best looking male ever, best entertainer !
A charisma like his, no other performer or human ever had!
He could do anything , Gospel ,Folk ,Blues Country, Rock and ROLL.
    wAS THE FIRST

  14. Rene (El)Vos on November 1st, 2007 7:50 pm

before anybody did anything Elvis did everything !
Best performer, most charismatic ,and best looking male in the world!
He could sing with his heart and soul like no one could, he opened doors for others like no artist before him ever did! He brought the Black and white culture closer to each other!
The list could go on and on, but the best proof remains ,that after 30 years beeing gone now ,his star shines brighter then ever!
While Mr Jackson is still alive ,his star is already fading out! So this poll is actually not needed, the results are already clear!

  15. Stuart on November 1st, 2007 9:54 pm

I think Elvis had the better voice. This is generally accepted throughout most of the Worlds population (or at least the ones with any sense).

Entertainment wise, if I could turn the clock back and see either entertainer live and at the peak of their career, it would have to be Elvis. Surely, only a complete nitwit would choose otherwise!!

In fashion as in everything else, Elvis was a leader rather than a follower. I think Michael got caught up with the whole “megastar” thing and took it all (just a bit) to seriously. To prove the point, it was reported recently, that if the number of Elvis impersonators buying the “Aloha” jumpsuit continues to increase at its present rate, in 18 months, it will have outsold the “Thriller” album.

Sleep is very important to any entertainer, Michael and Elvis were no exceptions. Michael was definately the better sleeper though: Elvis was a lifelong insomniac which may have contributed to his reliance on prescription pharmaceuticals! For Michael though, night time was a special time (esp playing and cuddling with the toys) that’s why he’s always looked so great and managed to maintain that falsetto range of his.

Overall I would have to say Elvis is my favourite.

  16. Peggy on November 1st, 2007 10:35 pm

No two ways about it. ELVIS. He not only started Rock and Roll, he could sing Pop, country, gospel, love songs and the blues. He has more talent than any singer that ever inhabited this earth. He’s also in three Halls of Fame. His music is still fresh today as it was when he recorded it. It will never go out of style.

He always performed to a sold out audience right to the end. He has more loyal fans than any singer dead or alive.

  17. rick on November 1st, 2007 10:36 pm

Elvis without a doubt wins on all counts

  18. Dixie on November 1st, 2007 11:14 pm

    Elvis, today, tomorrow and forever!

  19. Nadeem Bashir on November 2nd, 2007 1:29 am

    1) Elvis was inducted into several Halls of Fame which clearly acknowledges his vocal range. Indeed, his voice was getting better when he sadly passed away. From rock to blues, from operatic to country, from r & b to gospel…just cant be beaten.
    2) Both excellent and value for money. Saw MJ and was impressed, but did not see Elvis as i was 11 when he died. Looking at footage from 55-56, 68 comeback special and Elvis on Tour/Thats The Way It Is and trying to compare..its Elvis by a long way. Indeed, in my opinion, Prince and others (Bono/U2)are above MJ.
    3) Elvis again…no doubt about it.
    4) Both have set trends across a couple of generations and have been imitated, copied and worshiped across the world. Elvis still wins due to the ground breaking nature in of his style…the rockabilly in the 50’s, the simple, yet sophisticated look in his movies during the sixties, the leather gear as worn in the comeback special and the jumpsuits of the seventies. Indeed, he made an army uniform stylish.

Both are deserving of the attention they get, and both have suffered negativity in the press…undeservedly in most counts in both cases, but they are not in the same league. MJ v Prince would be better with Elvis alone as the ultimate icon, original American Idol and artist of the century as touted in many polls at the end of the 20th century

  20. johnny Christensen on November 2nd, 2007 5:26 am

Ok , Let´s LOOK at this Right !
Elvis Presley SINGS , SOUNDS , LOOKS , Moves Better then Michael Jackson . Michael is Ok , But im sorry “NEVER BETTER THEN THE BEST” Mr. Elvis Presley

  21. HZ on November 2nd, 2007 9:18 am

Elvis Presley is not only the king of rock & roll he is the king of music.

  22. steve wright on November 2nd, 2007 10:42 am

Elvis of course had the better voice. He had the better vocal range covering about 2 octaves and a 3rd from baritone low G to the tenors high B with an upward extension in falsetto to at least A D flat.
M J put on a good show but very much reliant on pyrotechnics, other stage dancers and very much practiced dance routines which hide the fact that when singing live MJ voice was not that strong. However Elvis was the show. The eyes would be focused solely on him and the ears on his voice. Stage movements were not rehearsed as such so each show, even though the songs may be the same the moves and the way they were sung could be totally different. There was always the close interaction of the crowd and they were part of the show in the way they interacted with Elvis. He had a great sense of humour and always played up to the crowd by putting on silly hats or glasses or other things that people had thrown to him.Of course the main part was listening to Elvis sing. The voice at full throttle could shake the ceiling and send goose bumps down the spine. He was the blueprint for everthing that came after.
MJ was a good looking kid and as a young man but never really head turning.
However Elvis was a beautiful man and often said that photographs did him no justice.Probably the best looking man ever in showbusiness.

Elvis was always ahead in the style stakes. always a trendsetter and all his fashion styles have always been followed in some form or another. Even the jumpsuits were copied, but didnt look as good, by other artists and even the late princess Diana had a dress called the Elvis dress because of its high collar.
MJ didnt really do anything to change fashion.
    Result:
    ELVIS 4 MJ 0

  23. pat on November 2nd, 2007 1:02 pm

i am a fan of both these artists but there is only one winner elvis the greatest recording artist ever elvis had it all.

  24. Neil on November 2nd, 2007 1:18 pm

    1. Elvis could sing gospel, blues, rock and roll, pop and ballads and do it better than anyone else. Michael Jackson stayed mostly with one style.
    2. Elvis didn’t need all of the razzamatazz that Michael Jackson needed to put on a show. He entertained with his own pure talent.
    3. Elvis all the way. Michael Jackson looked wierder the older he got. Sure, Elvis got overweight, but he still looked good.
    4. Elvis influenced so many with his hair style and clothing both off and on stage from the 50’s through to the 70’s and beyond. I guess MJ got some folk wearing white socks with black pants.

  25. Kelly on November 2nd, 2007 2:18 pm

Like there is even a comparison here…….ELVIS PRESLEY of course…Micheal Jackson cant hold a candle to Elvis………

  26. Danny on November 2nd, 2007 2:21 pm

Elvis is the king. Michael was very good in the 80’s but now he’s dead. A living dead.

  27. Mel on November 2nd, 2007 2:23 pm

OH PLEASE!!!! There is NO COMPARISON. Elvis was, is and always will be The Greatest Entertainer of all times.

  32. daisy jones on November 2nd, 2007 10:27 pm

    1)Who has the better voice?
No contest here. Elvis definitely. He had a 3 plus octave range which is rare in R N R

    2)Who was the best entertainer?
Again, no contest. I watched both the comeback special and the movie That’s The Way - all concert footage. Compared to Jackson’s videos, Elvis was the greatest.

    3)Who was the sexiest?
This one is a no-brainer. Elvis had the classic beauty and sensuality that Jackson has always lacked. Jackson looked like a squashed pie when he was young and even looked worse after too numerous to count plastic surgery procedures.

4)Who had the best style sense?
Elvis was a trendsetter from a very young age. He was always unique and one-of-a-kind. He had the looks, the body, the personality and charisma and did it his way without stylists. Jackson’s style or lack of it was manufactured by some stylist that had no clue as far as fashion and style.

  33. Maurice Colgan on November 3rd, 2007 7:23 am

Elvis Presley has been described as the “Stand Alone Icon of the Century”.

Obviously Michael Jackson as good as he may be, was nowhere in the same league as Elvis.

  34. kathy k on November 3rd, 2007 10:26 pm

GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!! NO ONE IS EVEN IN THE SAME LEAGUE AS ELVIS. THERE WILL ONLY BE ONE KING OF ROCK AND ROLL….AND THEN THE PRETENDERS.

  35. James on November 4th, 2007 6:26 am

Elvis all the way. Not even close. MJ was great but Elvis is so huge Jackson simply can’t compare to the King of Rock n roll. And I’m not even factoring the child molestation thing Micheal will never live down.

  36. letha on November 4th, 2007 3:40 pm

elvis is definitely the king of rock and roll. he has the voice and everything else.

  37. gary on November 5th, 2007 12:17 am

C’mon, you can’t be serious? It’s Elvis all the way!

  38. Ollie Berry on November 5th, 2007 10:48 pm

Elvis for me in all categories,Michael Jackson, great artist but not even a close second to the greatest entertainer this world is ever likely to know

  39. Nancy Thompson on November 7th, 2007 8:14 am

Are you kidding? Elvis all the way!

  40. MJfan on November 7th, 2007 1:39 pm

As we all can see in the reactions overhere..Elvis is still the greatest.
He was the first, the last…he was everything!

  41. Tigerman GB on November 12th, 2007 12:21 am

Elvis did’nt like to be called the King, but Micky J whined that he should be called the King of Pop, maybe if he’d left his face alone I’d have more respect for him as it is, IMO ,& many others, Elvis wins hands down & always will.

  42. illmatic on December 18th, 2007 12:23 am

    THIS. A. JOKE.

I can’t believe all the bullshit that was written in all these comments. I am seriously flabbergasted. Well for one, in response to the person above me, Michael Jackson never whined that he should be called the King of Pop. He never even proclaimed him self as such, it was a title from the fans and his friends.

Elvis fans still think he really sold 1 billion records> If that were true, why isn’t he the number one artist dominate in all the lists? I haven’t seen his name in the Guinness Worlds Records, have you? Thats cause he’s not, sorry bb. Michael is #2 right after the Beatles, Elvis is #3. Let me come out and just bring everyone up to reality — “Before anyone did anything, Elvis did everything” IS BULLSHIT. Elvis one of a kind? Perhaps a caricature of many “kinds”. Elvis and the people behind him stole the image, mannerisms, and styles of other artist. Most of Elvis’ music wasn’t even written by him, and the songwriter who did write them died broke.

And that songwriter was Otis Blackwell, one the greatest American songwriters ever wrote Elvis biggest hits (Don’t Be Cruel, All Shook Up, Return to Sender). Not only did he write them - Elvis copied the arrangement, the style, the vocal mannerisms, and claimed he co-wrote the songs along with Blackwell (at least Elvis’ name was on the record as co-writer).

    http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/9314/dc5711a21eafjl6.jpg

In truth it was Blackwell’s influence that helped put Elvis on the top of the R&B and pop charts (at the same time) yet Elvis never bothered to even meet him. Unfortunately for Blackwell - sold Elvis’ biggest hits for $25 each. He was the ’soul’ of Elvis Presley - and no one ever heard of him, and he died penniless in 2002. Blackwell also wrote “Fever”, “Great Balls of Fire” (Jerry Lee Lewis’ signature tune), “Breathless”, “Let’s Talk About Us” (two more Jerry Lee Lewis hits).

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otis_Blackwell

Blackwell (nor his family) ever saw a penny of the publishing royalties that helped build his empire; and that Elvis’ wife Priscilla and daughter Lisa Marie Presley are reaping the benefits from to this day. No one would of signed her a record deal if she wasn’t the daughter of The King, nor would her homely looking daughter Riley would become a model if The King wasn’t her grandfather. Luckily for her, she still has a hint of the Elvis resemblance in her face.

Why do you think Colonel Parker (his manager) made sure Elvis’ name was on the records as co-writer? Publishing rights. And publishing rights mean big money $$$. Little Richard was cheated out of a lot of royalties on most of his work. Remember Michael Jackson’s wonderful gesture to Little Richard? He bought the publishing rights to his music and GAVE it to him. It made Little Richard cry tears of joy. That is something to be respected.

Elvis was and is a media creation, and his image and life, has been white washed greatly sense his death. People have been brainwashed, by constant talk of his supposed “greatness”. Today Elvis’ legacy is little more than a pop cultural reference. His face is on mugs, stuffed pigs are made in his image, and various other commercial junk. That is all Elvis deserves, and nothing more. They continually throw him up, in response to the greatness of others, but there is absolutely no comparison. This is not about Elvis, but about a system that attempted to bury the legacy of many artists, and continues, to attempt to pump up something, that never was in the first place.

Michael Jackson was THE innovator by far, and although he was inspired by others (Elvis NOT being one of them, but I’ll get into that later) he didn’t totally take on their image, and make a career off it like Elvis Presley did. So there is no comparison. What did Elvis innovate, other than putting an “acceptable” face on the work of other artists? He was a created talented, a singing puppet, and is severely overrated. He did not invent anything, everything he “did” was already done and better. All of his peers Jackie Wilson, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown and so on are vastly superior.

It was never my intention to come here and bash Elvis Presley. But when I read the laughable comments I really feel compelled to give a virtual slap to people who seemingly haven’t had a clue on what they are articulating (or trying to). Elvis Presley was talented in the same way Justin Timberlake is “talented”. Almost like a modern day equivalent, I wonder how Timberlake would of weathered without his black producers and song writers like Pharrell Williams and Timothy “Timbaland” Mosley for example?

    1. The majority if not all of Michael Jackson’s classic songs were written, produced and composed by himself. He is not just a “Pop” artist. In fact, that is laughable. In his adolescence, he was on Motown records (with his brothers) singing unmistakable soul/funk music. In his adult solo career, his debut album ‘Off the Wall’ was disco/funk as well. His music did not generally did not be referred to as “Pop” until ‘Thriller’ although he still covers many genres throughout his career. To make the point this Presley sung this and that [style] shit is ridiculous, as if Jackson did not himself. ‘Dangerous’ for example was a notable New Jack Swing themed album, but with elements of rock (Slash from Guns and Roses working with Jackson on two tracks) as ‘Thriller’. Eddie Van Halen’s famous solo in ‘Beat It’ was composed by Jackson. To turn a blind eye or ignore to all of the versatility Jackson possesses in music is laughable.

    2. Michael Jackson was never influenced by Elvis Presley, or had “took” some of his “dance moves” as someone tried their hardest to insinuate. Why not? Because Elvis Presley didn’t have any to speak of. Michael Jackson was influenced by cats like Jackie Wilson, James Brown, Sammy Davis Jr., all of Elvis’ peers whom HE copied off of. So if you think ‘even Jacko copied some Elvis moves’ I assure you, and I don’t mean to disappoint but, a move was watered down from the Elvis filter that was again, originated from a true trendsetter like Brown. Speaking of the Godfather of Soul, Jackson has spoken of him fondly for decades and Mr. Brown has acknowledged him (and Prince) many a times.

    3. Actually, this number isn’t really a point I’m just still laughing at people who think Elvis is original.

    4. Michael Jackson has a phenomenal voice, he very underrated as a singer. Unique, rich and lovely when you used to sing live in his prime. He had a voice on him even in his adolescence. What Jackson possesses is a rare talent, and has been exuded since practically his birth. Now, admittedly I skimmed through yet another comment that may have you believe that Michael Jackson of all people relied on stage tricks to impress audiences. LOL! Right. Jackson is typically by himself when solo [or accompanied by his brothers in a group of his siblings] with the band. That is all.

Highly practiced dance moves. If that was said to imply that they were to be regarded as “mechanical” that couldn’t be any more wrong. Jackson has a natural talent for dance (and music in general) as well as his brothers, who self taught the instruments they played. In their Motown audition, the Jackson 5 performed ‘I Got That Feeling’ by James Brown and blew Berry Gordy, Diana Ross and the Motown family away and were signed. If you mean he was highly practiced as in hard working? HELL YES. Far from a negative thing. He has been doing this since he was 5 and hasn’t looked back since.

    5. Neither Presley or Jackson had any sense of style. Though both have recognizable, iconic and ’signature’ wardrobe.

    6. Elvis obviously held what the ideal handsome Caucasian man of his time generation was considered, as Marilyn Monroe did, blonde, even though she herself was truly your Norma Jean; a cute girl with red-brownish hair. Both had their nose reshaped (in both accounts, unnecessary like all of whom go under the knife) where as Elizabeth Taylor held a more natural beauty, although both women were gorgeous. So while I agree that Elvis was good looking and “sexy” I would not go crazy over him either.

When speaking about sex appeal and attraction regarding Michael Jackson it seems unfathomably, for most people if not all no longer associate those words and attributes with Jackson since the 80s (and slightly in the early 90s). I will disregard the way he looks now, given that he has modified his natural looks and ruined his face. Michael Jackson used to be a gorgeous looking man. He was very slim and soft spoken, which is not looked upon as desirable since they are not typical masculine traits, but thats what many young girls and women found him alluring at the time (watch The Making of Thriller ‘the fans’ segment to see what I’m talking about!). He had caramel brown skin, beautiful brown eyes, a nose that need not been modified, at least not approximately 7 times over, the most beautiful smile (that his sister Janet Jackson too has) and even had a jheri curl that was tolerable.

    7. In his prime, during tours like “Destiny” “Triumph” “Victory” “Bad” and “Dangerous” he sang live, his vocals rich and clear, he danced with as much energy as his mentor James Brown, fluidity in his smooths dance steps moves that not Elvis or anyone to this day cannot touch as a performer — and he did this all without sounding off key, a single crack or maybe out of breath by the second verse. I have not seen Elvis live, so I won’t comment by default since that is not fair.

Don’t believe me on Jackson? The greats certainly do.

Fred Astaire, one of the greatest dancers of all time how much merit and honor. The day after Jackson’s legendary Motown 25 performance when he performed ‘Billie Jean’ for the first time, Astaire phoned him, informed him he had not only taped the show but watched it twice that morning, and he was a HELL of a dancer!

  43. Mike on December 18th, 2007 11:16 am

I am a big MJ fan, but I don’t really know that much about Elvis. I have heard only his best songs and I’ve seen one concert on tv. I’m just basing my conclusions on the stuff I have seen so far and trying to be as objective as I can.

    1. To be honest, I don’t think you can compare their voices. Elvis has a kinda low voice, Michael has a very high voice. And I think they are both the best at their own way of singing.
    So tie.

    2. I think they where both great entertainers.

You know what, I am going to stop with comparing the 2, you can’t. Elvis fans are going to say Elvis, MJ fans are going to say MJ. And they are both correct. Because Elvis is the King of Rock and MJ is the King of Pop. That’s just the way it is. They are both in their own leauge and must no be compared.

Berstein was an astute and Intelligent man. His words on Ludwig Van Beethoven on youtube are music to the ears.

    Michael Jackson, because
    1)Who has the better voice?
Michael’s voice cannot be imitated and is super original
    2)Who was the best entertainer?
Michael because his concerts were bigger, better and had better reviews
    3)Who was the sexiest?
Michael in his prime because he actually got MTV’sexiest artist award in 1983, not many people know that.
4)Who had the best style sense?
Michael because he’s sponsered by Versace and they have a better style sense than that of Elvis, cuz thats what they do.

  46. Maurice Colgan on December 18th, 2007 11:00 pm

Ask people what they think of Michael and they will reply Michael who?

Now ask them what they think of ELVIS. LOL.

    Goodnight.

  47. illmatic on December 19th, 2007 6:56 am

Maurice Colgan you are simply out of touch with reality.

You honestly think when the subject about Michael Jackson pops up, a great discussion doesn’t erupt? You honestly telling us that people do not recognize the name Michael Jackson, or have nothing to say about him? Everyone has an opinion on this man; be it good or bad, indifferent. Michael Jackson generates ratings like no one else, regardless of what hes doing.

Now tell me, whens the last time a young mainstream artist of this generation cites Elvis as their idol or influence? Now compare that to Michael Jackson? LOL.

    Goodnight.

  48. Sid on December 20th, 2007 8:08 pm

Michael was a great showman. Elvis was a great showman.

Michael is an icon. Elvis is an icon.

Michael is a musical genius. Elvis was not.

  49. Varun Wadhwa on December 22nd, 2007 9:53 am

Michael Jackson is described as an unstoppable juggernaut who dominates the charts seemingly at will. Along with eye-popping dance moves and an instantly identifiable voice. Michael Jackson reflects the true personality of a modern day performing and recording perfectionist.

Elvis, verses MJ, give me a break. Elvis was in his position because he was white and it was at a time when blacks were not even allowed on the album covers in these all white record stores. Elvis stole all of his music from black artist. The creator of rock and roll was a black man by the name of Chuck Berry, next in the line of rock royalty is Little Richard. Those are the pioneers. Evis also isn’t World Wide like Mike is. Elvis sold out in the US, Michael sold out aound the world. Michael will sell out a concert arena in places like Romania, Elvis couldn’t go to Africa and sell out anything. On the other hand, Michael sells out where ever he goes in the world. Elvis was good, Michael is 100% better. Michael has sold over 750,000,000 records. He is also listed in the Gueness book of world records as the most successful enetertainer ever to walk the Earth. That is including past entertainers and those of today…

  51. Romi on August 5th, 2008 11:56 am

WOW!!! this is i think the stupidest comparation with out a doubt! Why the Hake would one compare Elvis 2 Michael? Obviously, There are some ignorant people in this world, that think Elvis was The Greatest intertainer in the world…and Michael Jackson is 2nd 2 him. Well, THATS BULL!!!

1st of all, Elvis(God rest his soul), NEVER WROTE HIS OWN SONGS! EVER…He had a Black Man write songs 4 him…He sang what was written 2 him. He was good, but Not that good.

ON THE OTHER HAND, Lets see Michael Jackson. HE Writes his own songs…been singing since he was 5 yrs. old. His DANCES ARE Revolutionary and and and, He IS THE ONE PERSON that Broke MTV bariers between BLACK AND WHITE!!! Its really Michael who Influenced MOST OF the MUsic INDUSTRY ANd its artists today…

Now tell me, after all this comparation, Who do u think is the best??? REALLY!!!

  52. Romi on August 5th, 2008 11:57 am

For the record, I love Elvis, He was a good singer…but AGAIN Not As good as Michael!!!

  53. Romi on August 5th, 2008 12:02 pm

Now i’ve read most of the comments and it says Elvis, but really if u knew real MUSIC you wounldnt say that…Michael Took some moves from elvis, James brown, Jakie willson…AND HE MADE IT HIS OWN!!! He RECREATED HIMSELF!!! thats what you do when you are THE BEST! YOU RECREAT YOUR SELF!!! So for those of u Who say Elvis Winns in all Catagories, WEll, good luck on that!

  54. Romi on August 5th, 2008 12:10 pm

Yall who dont like MJ say, His plastic surgury is disgusting…right? Well, Want about Elvis, He Passed away because Drug over dose! and thats really not a good thing is it? Some of you may Cuss @ me or treaten me, but i still stand on this point! AnD dont any of you tell me that if Elvis was black, he would be this famous!

GO to the poorest countries and show them Elvis’s and Michael Jackson’s Photos…Which one do u think they’ll recognize? MICHAEL is known Around THE WORLD!!! 99.9% of The population Knows who he is.

AND ELVIS? He is only known in AMERICA!!! THERE ARE NO INTERNATIONAL Impersnators, Only American.

But MICHAEL Has AN impersnator for every country, Bulgaria, Brazil,ALL Of Europe….AFRICA, Australia, CANADA!!! ANd dont forget, AMERICA!!!

so if ur gonna sit there and tell me Elvis has the most Impersinators and that he was well lknown?Well Think again, cuz MICHAEL JACKOSN Is 10 TIMES BIGGER!!!

  55. Romeo on August 12th, 2008 7:26 pm

While I write my comment here, I wanna to stress that I’m being completely unbiased. The question asked & answers are -

1)Who has the better voice? - Completely arguable. There is no way to determine who has the best voice. It’s just highly dependent. I think they both got great voices. I would personally go for Michael Jackson. As far as singing goes, there is no arguments. Michael Jackson (4 Octaves) is vocally far more able than Elvis (nearly 3 Octaves) and he is probably the most versatile singer of all time. He is also the youngest artist ever to top the music charts at the age of 11. He sang like an angel. Elvis was a great singer but Michael wins.

2)Who was the best entertainer? - You can’t put anyone else in the league of Michael Jackson. His shows and performances were mind blowing. I have never seen the spectators screaming like they did in MJ’s concerts in my whole life. Besides, he is also the most successful entertainer of all time. Elvis possibly was the best entertainer till MJ’s era but Michael wins.

3)Who was the sexiest? - I’m a man. So, I couldn’t really decide but I can say this is completely arguable. I have heard a lot of people talking about Elvis and his great looks. Some people even say that he was the best looker in the history of Show Biz. Forget MJ’s change of appearance as he suffers from vitiligo. When he was normal black at skin, people use say he is one of the sexiest black guys. I would agree with that. I leave this undecided.

4)Who had the best style sense? - Hmmmm, same old arguable stuff. I’m a fan of Elvis’ jump suites but I can never forget the style of Michael Jackson. When he wore the coats in the 80s, people used to wear ‘em. They just did whatever Michael did. As Elvis was just the ’same old Jump Suit style’ most of the times, I would say Michael Jackson is far more stylish and a lot experimental. Michael wins.

I have just answered the questions asked and it is in no way biased. Thanks.

  56. Johnny Bravo on August 12th, 2008 7:39 pm

WTF? Why do you guys even compare an ordinary artist like Elvis Presley to Michael Jackson? Are you guys crazy? MJ is like a lot of times bigger than Elvis Presley! MJ is the greatest entertainer ever, not to mention his awesome composing skills. His vocal abilities are unmatched. No one can say otherwise.

Michael Jackson is the King of Music. Elvis was just for America but Michael ruled the world like no other did. He is a musical genius in whole other reality. Elvis Presley was just a truck driver who flipped the coin right!

MICHAEL JACKSON IS THE EMPEROR OF MUSIC !!!!!!!!!!! MIKE RULES !!!!!!!!!

  57. Shubham Agrawal on September 6th, 2008 9:16 pm

MJ is son of music but Elvis Presley is fathaer ofv music..

  58. Harry on September 11th, 2008 7:59 am

@ above comment - Yeah? What kind of crack are you on? Calling Elvis ‘The Father of Music’ has be one of the dumbest quotes ever! I mean, seriously, are you outta your mind? How can you call someone like Elvis so when he couldn’t even write a single song on paper? Couldn’t compose a damn tune? He is hardly any innovative.

On the other side, Michael Jackson is a total genius. He is in a whole other league. You should see him working in a studio. Even the great artists that work with him are often speechless watching Michael making Music! No person who knows stuff would even dare to put an ordinary ‘come and go’ kinda guy like Elvis to a genius like Michael Jackson! Get to know some facts!

  59. Shariq on September 25th, 2008 3:56 pm

Umm.. I saw an above comment saying …Michael is just OK….

First of all who holds the record of the Best Selling album ….umm it aint elvis
who is actually the best selling artist ? umm it aint elvis
who holds the record for the most successfull world tour ? it aint elvis
and who holds the record for the most grammies won in a single year ? it aint elvis here again…

I mean MJ VS Elvis…Elvis sure is good…was the best in his times…
but if yu compare the prime time of Elvis with the prime time of Michael….Michael beats him …. and beats him bad !!
MJ is a total genius a perfectionist ….
The ppl supporting Elvis in this topic really need to see Michael’s Live performances……

I’m from China. Few upper class people knew Elvis here. If you ask a common man here abt Elvis, he’d definitely not know. But on the other hand, Michael Jackson was a super star here. Everybody, even the people in the slum know him. Because, he is very famous like Bill Clinton and even more.

  61. Anil on October 1st, 2008 10:19 am

    @above
Hey, Im from India. Here 99% of the people wud’nt know who Elvis is…. But, Michael Jackson is a superstar here. almost 100% of Indian population wud know abt him. Cos’ MJ is simply a genius.

  62. Hevic on October 6th, 2008 9:03 am

I’m learning music right from my 7 and I’ve listened to all the stuff of both Elvis and Michael. I mean all the stuff… Everything…… Elvis sure is good…. And a few of his stuff are my favorites…. I assure you that I can compose music similar to that of Elvis…….. But it is impossible for any one to compose songs like smooth criminal , beat it etc. Michael Jackson is a super genius…. I’ve alwayz wondered how could he possibly be a human…. Its impossible to think and make music like Michael Jackson. There are many artists who are my favorite like Elvis, Justin, Eagles etc. But I’ll never ever compare any of them( including Elvis) to Michael Jackson because, MJ is a fuckin genius whereas the others are not…. Elvis may think internationally. Its great but Michael jackson thinks in planets. Its on another level.

  63. Henry on October 9th, 2008 8:01 am

I’m from China. Here everyone knows Michael even my dad, but few of us know Elvis . I think Elvis maybe a great musician but MJ is just music . He is really a nature born jenius.

  64. Warnock on October 14th, 2008 8:01 am

Who the heck is Elvis? Nobody in the world apart from America even knows him!

But, Michael Jackson? He enjoys an awareness level of over 97% worldwide today, only equaled by Coca Cola. Think how big the man is.

Michael Jackson is a better singer, dancer, performer, song-writer, composer, arranger and overall, he is a better musician! Oh wait, Elvis never wrote a song or composed one! All he could do is sing a bit and make those odd gestures on the stage.

Not even a competition. MJ is above all. He is the King of ‘em all!

  65. Stunner on October 23rd, 2008 8:09 am

    MJ is good
    but Elvis is better

  66. RACHEL on November 18th, 2008 2:55 pm

    MJ
Elvis, only popular in the United States
most people outside US doesn’t even know who he is
but Michael is the most famous people in the world he’s more famous than jesus(there’s proof, from a british website vote or sth)

sorry.the only reason some of u guys said elvis is better just because he’s white.
