Brazilian Jean Charles De Menezes

My personally opinion back in 2005 when Brazilian electrician Jean Charles De Menezes was killed by Metropolitan Police was “He was just a casualty of war”.

Now when I say War, do not get me wrong as if you think just because we are in the safety of the UK or US you are wrong.

We are at war and the battle field can sometimes be brought closer to home by terrorists, Jean Charles De Menezes was at the wrong place when their was a panic in London.

Although that is my opinion, the facts are the Metropolitan Police has been found guilty of a series of errors that led to the killing of Jean Charles De Menezes in a London Tube station in 2005.

He was an innocent man, but the circumstance and the thought of someone being a suicide bomber led to the actions of the police and if you have ever been on the London underground you will see how busy it is and what could have happened if he did have a bomb.

The result that I am pleased with is that the officer in charge had no culpability placed on them; instead the Metropolitan Police has been fined £175,000 and ordered to pay £385,000 costs.

Do you agree that this event happened because of extraordinary circumstances and the result of trial was fair?

If not then what do you think the trial results should have been?
