India Attracts Big Companies: now Cisco uses Indian engineering talent

Many would have thought that it was India’s lo-cost labor that made Cisco Systems Inc locate outside the US, but it was in fact the Indian engineering talent that made them choose. It is a big step for the company to move outside Silicon Valley, a Cisco’s Systems spokesperson said, but India is a rapidly-growing economy and has huge market potential.

Cisco Systems have invested $100 million in Indian start-ups, which is hoped to help India become a global hub for their nest-generation of products. Economic Times have also reported that Cisco Systems believe that the new Indian center will be at the heart of their new globalization vision; they also believe that this is the perfect platform to tap into new emerging markets.
