BBC Children in Need appeal
Following on from the post about “what do you do with your old mobile phones”, we had some great news from a comment that is such a good idea.

If you have got an unwanted mobile phone you can donate it to the BBC Children in Need appeal which aims to help encourage recycling and raise funds for Children in Need.

The BBC’s The One Show has teamed up with Fonebak and they will donate £5 for every reusable mobile phone received.

It reported that 18 million mobile phones are replaced every year and also as I said before my old phones are sitting in boxes somewhere, but I am not the only one as they say that 90 million phones are sitting in drawers.

Now I know what to-do with my old phones, you can donate a phone here on Fonebak

    Greetings

Our school is located in the rural region of western Uganda providing basically free education to orphans in this region. We depend on funds from well wishers and the church is one of such source of funding. Recently we are lookiing for funds to complete construction of a girl’s dormitory hoping to raise about 30million Uganda shillings which is about USD 20,000.

We thought of many ways we could raise this money in the shortest way possible and we came up with an idea of collecting used cell from our friends abroad which we could then auction to raise those funds without going through the tideous and lengthy processes of applying for funding putting into mind that most funding agencies do not fund fund capital investment like construction of buildings. We are therefore hoping to raise about 2000 used cell phones in good and working condition to auction.

We are therefore requesting for your contribution with any amount of cell phones to assist this noble cause.

Hoping for your support.God bless you
    Regards
