Cloverfield Title Revealed With Movie Trailer Description

Online sources have had a sneak peak at the trailer for the upcoming JJ Abrams-produced monster movie code-named Cloverfield/1-18-08. The trailer apparently runs for 2 minutes and 16 seconds and debuts in front of Beowulf when it opens this week. As I reported earlier this week, it will finally reveal the name of the movie.

So, Devin over at CHUD has had a little look at the trailer to come - does he know the title? Well, it’s Cloverfield. Yes, sorry to disappoint you but the reel marked as Trailer #1, V.17, with ‘Newest FX Shots’ has the title card, “Cloverfield”.

Now, don’t be disheartened - this could still be just a placeholder until the real title is announced so it all could change. Although the internet community is familiar with the title Cloverifled, the mainstream audience knows the film as 1-18-08. This is why I don’t believe that Cloverfield is the actual title of the film.

CHUD have also featured a description of the trailer, which is obviously a trailer you have to experience on the big screen, rather than reading information about it. Apparently the trailer confirms the movie features a big monster, “We see the big monster briefly passing between two buildings. I couldn’t make it out at all, but it appeared to be HUGE.”, and several smaller creatures.

Check out the trailer for yourself when it premieres in front of Beowulf on November 16th.
