This year’s host Snoop Dogg has been saying that he reckons he’s the guy to tackle Britain’s problem with gangs but there is a slight hitch because he can’t get a visa to the UK because of his drug convictions.

Co-host Wyclef Jean’s been making reporters laugh by moaning about the size of his free hotel room. Wyclef said that it’s so small he has to sit down to take a shower.

The question has to be why do so many artists come to the MTV awards?

Well its simple because around 60% of all records and downloads are sold in the run-up to Christmas and by turning up, the artists get to do Europe-wide promotion from one place.

Apparently Liverpool will be hosting next year’s show. But there’s only one slight catch the venue’s not built yet. City officials have said that they are confident it’ll be ready for November 2008.
