Many years ago carving out a pumpkin for Halloween used to be fun for you as a parent and your child; it was a time for bonding with your children. But now it seems as if there is so much pressure on to carve out the best pumpkin in your street, with many people even entering contests.
It seems to me as if all the fun has been sucked out of this happy time of the year, but as always things like this is always made in to a sport and the ones who suffer most are the children.
Just take a look at extremepumpkins.com where they run a contest each year to find the most extreme pumpkin carving winner, with their slogan being “Pumpkin carving will never be the same.” I have to agree that some of these pumpkin designs are pretty cool, nothing looks better than one done with a parent and their small child.
