Following on from the news earlier about the P5000 being upgraded to the Nikon Coolpix P5100 within months, what we want to know is your opinion on the 12-megapixel sensor.

Many so called experts claim that putting a massive 12 megapixels into a compact camera is a bad idea and they also go on to claim that this camera (the P5100) proves that point.

Not a photo expert myself, but the image quality on the P5100 is noticeably better (even to an amateur), I would like to hear from photographers on their views of the idea of 12 megapixels into a compact camera and if you think it’s a good or bad idea.

Also what do you think of the Coolpix P5100?
