Linux Geeks: would you install YDL on the Sony PS3

I read the other day on a comment that installing YDL on your Sony PS3 can only be done if you are a Linux Geek, although he said he meant that in a respectful way I do wonder why a Linux Geek would want to install it on a games console. Many people have also tried to install Ubuntu and a few others just like it, but they keep going back to TDL as it does seem as if it is the best.
Many users have tried to use YDL but they have moaned that wireless does not work, so they had to plug a Cat5 in order to connect to the internet. The thing is having YDL on your Playstation 3 is not as popular as many think, some users have said that once Gamestream kicks off for Linux, then maybe they will find it more useful.
The thing is should Linux really be used on a games console like the Sony PS3, or should it be used just for computers. I know many of you will have your own thoughts on that, I know I have.

What you seem to not understand is the great potential you have by installing Linux on the ps3. For those not wanting to buy an expensive new computer, installing Linux means you can run VLC or MPlayer to play any video file that can be downloaded. MKV, DVIX, XVID, MP4, OOG, will all run and can be watched at 720 and 1080p without the need to buy a 400.00 GFX card, a Mother board that can handle the GFX card, a new processor, etc.
