Are Horror Movies Too Scary For You?

Watching scary movies at Halloween is a must. At the scariest time of the year we like to frighten ourselves silly with movies about the undead, vampires and ghostly happenings. This year we’ve been inundated with spooky movies to make sure we’ll be wetting ourselves this Halloween but what I want to know is this: Are scary movies a little too scary for you? Or do you thrive on them?
Obviously there are some ‘scary movies’ out there that are as tame as a Disney film, but we’re talking about good, solid horror flicks like Planet Terror, Rosemary’s Baby, Halloween (the original) and the top scary movie of all time, Psycho.
I must admit, I love watching scary movies, especially on Old Hallows eve where the dead rise from their graves - it makes me think that the stuff I’m watching on screen could actually happen! Tonight I think I’ll indulge myself and watch Psycho - Alfred Hitchcock’s perception of a horror film is just so on point it makes me want to cry!
Now, to be honest, I’ll watch this movie and crap my pants, I’ll scream, hide behind the cushion and heck I’m not ashamed to say I’ll sleep with the light on after. This is because I’m hopeless with horror movies. I love them, but my nervous system certainly doesn’t.
Horror movies of late don’t have this effect on me, however, they are all pretty lame compared to the old greats. I find the old movies too scary to watch, but I’d happily watch new horrors without blinking an eyelid.
What do you think? Are horror movies too scary for you? What is your favourite horror movie to watch at Halloween?

To tell you the truth the only film that ever scared me was American Werewolf in London, damn that film made me shit myself and there was no amount of loo roll that could help me…. Other than that I do not think there are many films around no more…
