Pontiac Solstice SD-290 single-seat racer concept: Teasing us at SEMA 2007
If you are lucky enough to visit SEMA 2007, then you need to take a walk over to the Pontiac stand where they are showing off the Solstice SD-290 single-seat racer to the public. This very unique concept has all the latest technology that you would expect from a car for today, but the design will evoke the racing cars of yesterday.

The standard Solstice GXP from Pontiac is a beautiful vehicle, but this SD-290 is in a different league and with its weight loss with not having a lid this concept should be much faster. Do not worry if it does rain as a tonneau cover will be at hand for the driver to use. Autoblog do tell us that the engine that Pontiac plan to use is the 2.0L direct-inject turbo which helps to deliver 290 horsepower, add to that Club Sport Z0K suspension package, 19-inch forged wheels and some other performance mods you are in for the drive of your life.

looks like the futuristic cousin of my old race car has come to town! i’d love to take this car out for a spin whether in or out the track. kinda reminds me of the batman’s car too.
