Apple’s New Leopard Operating System: Have You Got Yours?

After a long wait the new Apple Leopard operating system is finally here after the four-month delay which felt more like four years!

For all you Mac users you will have noticed Apple always show their skills by producing good quality products, and with the new Apple Leopard operating system that is what they have done.

It has over 300 new features including new backup software called ‘Time Machine’ and an application switcher ‘Spaces.’ The ‘Time Machine’ software lets users restore deleted files, applications, photos and other digital media. This works by automatically backing up everything on the Mac to an external hard drive or Mac OS X Server. Handy if you accidentally delete something of major importance!

The Spaces element attempts to reinvent the way users move between different tools and programmes by letting them group specific software for any given task. So, a single click can bring up all work applications or graphic suites. Handy!

Regular features have also had a facelift these include iChat, Mail, and boosted hardware compatibility with native 64bit support and a final version of Boot Camp. Front Row comes standard with all new Macs and Spotlight has been enhanced. Not only that, there is also a Movies Dashboard widget and more extensive parental controls.

So, it seems that Leopard has come leaps and bounds from where it was. Do you have the software? If so, let us know what you think of it.
