Kylie Minogue Has Been Awarded Music Industry Trust Gong

This afternoon Kylie Minogue will be presented with the Music Industry Trust prize at an awards ceremony in London.
The prize, which has been won by Sir Elton John and Peter Gabriel in the past, will honour the singer’s 20-year pop career.
David Munns who is the Chair of the Award committee, told the BBC that “There is no doubt that of our 15 Award recipients to date, Kylie is by far the most glamorous.
She deserves this award for her success over 20 years, staying at the top in one of the toughest professions and inspiring millions with her grace, dignity and humanity.”
Kylie Minogue said that “It is an incredible honour to be the recipient of this year’s Music Industry Trust’s Award and I am truly thrilled to be recognised in this way.”
Well done Kylie

Ever since Tony Blair came to power in 1997 ( her comeback after 9 years in nowhere land of music ) and dumbed down every cultural outlet UK awards have been doled out en masse to soap stars and other undeserving’s.
MIT is an award that has always gone to those who play instruments, write their own music and lyrics. She does none of these things and is not even a good vocalist. This is sympathy for all the media she made sure was generated over her cancer and is a shame and a bad taste for UK.
Never in history of entertainment has one star generated so media much guff over cancer. The others have a career that stands on its own merits and did not need this outpourings endless.
It is sickening.
