Bonfire Night Can Increase Insurance Claims.

So for anyone planning a party so check on their insurance policy to ensure that they have the correct level of cover just in case of any incidents which may occur.
“As fire is a standard peril in home insurance, you are automatically covered for any mishaps with the fireworks or a bonfire. So if a rocket swoops onto your roof and it catches fire or the bonfire edges close to your wooden fence, you will be covered” Head of Statistics at Norwich Union, Simon Warsop says.
It is also worth checking to see if you are covered in case of any personal injury which may occur.
Firework safety tips:
1. make sure that everyone is standing well back when lighting fireworks.
2. follow instructions carefully and use a torch never a naked flame
3. only use a lighter which is designed for fireworks or a taper
4. keep pets indoors
5. do not throw fireworks
6. do not put fireworks in your pocket
7. keep water close to the bonfire or fireworks
