If you are an owner of an Apple iPhone you will how annoying it is when the phone gets covered in fingerprints on the screen, it must be a bit of a problem for many owners as there is a new product on the market called iPhone Fingers. These little rubber sleeves are meant to stop fingerprints appearing on the screen, but come on how stupid will you look wearing these.
The problem that the Apple iPhone has is, all of the controls are touch screen and as we pick up some much dirt and grease on our hands so we have no hope stopping the problem, and my brother’s niece works in the O2 store in the UK or are getting ready to start selling the iPhone in the UK, and she has said that the phone looks horrible when there are fingerprints all over the screen.
Are you an Apple iPhone owner who has suffered with this problem, if so has it annoyed you and what have you done to help prevent it?

Big deal I have a treo 650 and a moto a780 these problem with all touch screens but the easy of use far out weights the problem and do not show when the cell is turned on. Same as the treo get grease from hand not only effect the screen but finger start slipping of the keys, Remember to wash hand after eating and wipe before they start to be a problem about once a day. Take it from one that has very oily skin. Have only used a iphone for a day, very, very very, easy to use.

I only have trouble when those fingerprints include the mustard in the hot dog I had at lunch.

I haven’t noticed this. When I bought belt case for the iPhone from Griffin it included a clear overlay for the screen which I applied. Perhaps that does not attract fingerprints as much as glass does. Maybe it has a lot to do with the lighting in the store. When the LCD is on in low lighting fingerprints will be invisible. If the LCD is off in a brightly lit room I suspect that fingerprints will be much more noticeable.

I just keep wiping them off with the tail of my shirt or t-shirt. That works pretty good. I was thinking about getting a small sheet of microfiber material and using that. It has pretty good cleaning qualities, even as a dry cloth. But, really, my shirt and t-shirt do a wonderful job…

This article was a complete waste of time & space. I guess I am just tired of every “writer” taking shots at the iPhone. It’s a tired and almost unprofessional way to get your name out there by trying to tear down the iPhone which I would say 99% of their owners absolutely love.
ANYONE who has an iPhone knows that the screen is so vibrant, that when it is on, all you can see is the brilliant colors and images. When you turn the phone off, sure, you can then see the smudges. I would bet ‘Peter’s’ (author of this article) salary that a huge majority of iPhone owners have no complaints about this. Seems to me as if this is just another dig at a great and innovative product. Nice try Pete, but try going after something else.
How’s your Zune working out for you?
