Guitar Hero 3 and Manhunt 2: Give the Nintendo Wii a boost or not?

Guitar Hero 3 and Manhunt 2
We spoke about the apparent lack of software sales on the Nintendo Wii earlier today and following on from that, many Nintendo Wii owners know and are looking forward to buying Guitar Hero 3 and Manhunt 2.

The question is: will these two major titles make the weak Nintendo Wii software sales increase dramatically.

If you’re a wii owner, will you be buying Guitar Hero 3 or Manhunt 2?

For me Guitar Hero 3 looks a great buy and one which would be great with some friends over (just what the Wii was built for).

So how much of an impact do you think Guitar Hero 3 and Manhunt 2 will have on the Wii?

If you want to talk about poor software sales, it would be a sin not to mention the PS3.

It’s humorous to find that there are emotional little fanboys post here and bash the Wii because they’re so whiny and upset the Wii outsold they’re console that they religiously worship. Thanks for giving me a good laugh, guys.

i think the public has spoken

I have a 360, its not that great and was rushed to the market. It sounds like a hover just sucked up wet socks. M$ made it really quickly just to get early market share and its paid off so far cuz its got great games. The wii, i think has amazing games too and a great line up for christmas. People are just buying it for wii sports because third party support has been really bad. However it is starting to change, with the likes of RE:UC, medal of honour, nights, trauma centre, WWE, tiger woods 08, fifa 08, manhunt 2, guitar hero 3 and crazy square enix stuff. The reason why the wii has had such bad third party support is because everyone underestimated the potential of the system. That is why Nintendo are the only ones selling wii software.

after scoring MH3 and SPORE….i would have thought these third party support stuff would be over…..i mean the 2008 lineup for wii is far more exciting than the ps3 and the 360.

This is an old topic that has no foundation anymore

Not trying to flame here, but how do you figure the 2008 lineup is exciting? You have Smash Bros and Mario Galaxy. Other than that, what is there that is really shaping up to be great? Guitar Hero 3 has no download support, smash has no voice chat, just pre-defined text messages. manhunt was censored, so it has been dramatically altered.

Believe me, I wanted to keep my Wii, but the amount of good, quality, games is very low. Too much shovel-ware from 3rd parties just trying to put something on the platform. UBI is the biggest offender, second only to EA.

I hope it gets better, but I don’t see that in the release schedules I have been viewing.

    Brad:
When i went to Gamestop Sunday, the attach rate for GH3 was greater than or equal to the 360.

And 2008? We haven’t yet seen the best for 2008, and you didn’t even mention Mario Kart Wii which most fans are looking forward to.

The amount of good quality games was too low?

    Super Smash Bros?

    Galaxy?

GH3? (which is awesome with the wii mote!)

    Battalion Wars 2?

    Rayman Raving Rabbids 2?

I could go on, but YOU DON’T CARE.

You are just an anti-Wii Vidiot. You ignore the evidence that the wii is going to start picking up stellar third party support, and will continue to do so after third parties realize that shovelware is not going to fly. Look at what Capcom said about their Okami port on IGN.

  7. Brad says:

    Ouch!

I do care, but most of the games you list are not available yet. Only GH3.

I am just stating a simple fact, not many good games are coming from 3rd party developers. Only Nintendo makes good games for Wii, and they cannot produce enough to keep the non casual gamer happy for long.

you fail to notice that I have not once mentioned the Wii’s power or graphics capability. That is because I don’t really care as long as the games are good and have a lot of replay value. Without a good online component, there is little replay value in any game on any platform.

Nintendo is far behind the competition in this area, AGAIN, and will have to face the music, AGAIN, in the near future.

I mean, the Wii has blue tooth, you’d think a blue tooth headset would be a no-brainer, but do we have that? No. Will it happen, probably not.

Apparently, Manhunt 2 has not been dramtically altered, as stated by many game previews that had a chance to play both versions. Also, the extent to which they were censored was minimal for the most part… I for one cannot wait to get my hands on MH2, GH3, Spore, RE:UC, and Smash Bros… To be honest, I’ve never waitied for games on any console, like I have the Wii.

i think that is not the real guitar hero box
