October 26, 2007 | Filed under News

Moments after Kate and Gerry McCann appeared in a TV interview on Spanish late night chat show 360 Degrees, a phone vote was opened and views watching could voice there opinion on the couple.
The phone in showed 70% of callers watching believe they are hiding a guilty secret about Madeleine’s disappearance and not telling the truth and the other 30% believe that they not being 100% honest about what happened to their daughter. Many other viewers left their thoughts on websites. One of the comments said. “I had an empty feeling inside when I was watching. It just did not look right. I desperately wanted to believe them, but I just couldn’t.’’
During the interview Kate was describing how she felt “sad and lonely” without her daughter as TV crew had to stop filming as Kate broke down in tears, but this had not fooled most viewers as they think that she was just shedding crocodile tears.
Clarence Mitchell, the McCann’s spokesman said “We will not comment on any poll when its findings we believe are far from representative of the vast majority of people living in Spain or anywhere else’’. He also added “Everything that Kate and Gerry said in the interview was entirely true and was designed with one purpose – to ensure the safe return of their daughter.’’

I wish that I could believe them. I do think they are sad and scared. But, I am afraid that they are afraid for their future, and how they will live with what has happened. I did feel desperately sorry for them, at first. When I truly thought Madeleine had been “taken”. Nothing adds up. None of it. And, even if she was taken, however I do not believe, There should still be more remorse for leaving her alone. No matter what, they are guilty. Why on earth would you have left your kids alone, in a foreign county, and went to have drinks with your friends. Give me a break. That is all the proof I need that they are unfit. I think that they know what happened to her. If they truly want to get back to a “normal” life, as they put it. CONFESS. That will be a start.
they are unfit parents shady no remorse shown but i feel sad for them as well they truly might not be able to cope or they might be fooling everyone? why arn’t the with their two children more it seens to be about them all the time not maddie
Those tears could be guilt. She could be genuinely worried but knowing what happened and is afraid what my happen if she tells. She could be crying selfish tears, afraid of what will happen if and when they find out. The fact that she thinks people will assume she can only cry because she misses her daughter is actually kind of stupid. Now that they’re formal suspects they’re starting to slip up. Suddenly remembering things, starting to get so defensive, etc.
I don’t know if they’re guilty, but they are doing so many stupid things. Damage control, always damage control that comes too late and backfires because of that.
They took money from people to “help find Madeleine” then moved to an expensive villa in Portugal, lived off the fund money, and jetted all over the world, not to find Madeleine, but to publicize their cause.
Sure, it may have helped. But it wasn’t what the fund was for.
