Dark Knight Jack-O-Lantern Starts To Rot

The other day I told you about the jack-o-lantern in The Dark Knight viral website whySoSerious.com. The pumpkin has a huge bat symbol grin which seemed to be reminiscent of the popular Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale graphic novel The Long Halloween.

We wondered if this was a clue we’d be getting a Dark Knight treat at Halloween.

Well it seems that the poor old pumpkin is feeling a little worse for wear. The jack-o-lantern’s candle is slowly burning down and looks set to go out any time soon. Not only that, the jack-o-lantern is beginning to break and rot but only on one side of the pumpkin’s face. Two-Face anyone? We think so.

It’s a given - we’re getting a Dark Knight treat this Halloween. Do you agree?

This marketing for The Dark Knight is pretty crazy. Heath Ledger is going to knock it out of the park and set it up nicely for the third installation starring Aaron Eckhart as Two-Face. If I were to guess what our Holloween treat would be, perhaps a picture of Eckhart as Two-Face, but at this point, who knows what it’s going to be. I can’t wait for the prelude in December, where we get to see our first glimpse of Ledger possibly becoming The Joker. This film cannot come soon enough. I’m going crazy waiting for it.

I have a feeling that the rotting pumpkin is representing the character “Two Face - Harvey Dent” since it seems that only one side of the pumpkin is decaying. Could this mean we will get a sneak peek at Two Face since we know what the Joker looks like? ;)
