Yamaha CD-S2000 SACD player and A-S2000 amplifier: Old styling new technology

To look at the new Yamaha CD-S2000 SACD player and A-S2000 amplifier you will be forgiven for thinking that you have stepped back in time to the 80,s with the brushed aluminum finish and the retro-inspired buttons and knobs, but inside is where it matters and both Yamaha audio items are packed with all the latest technology.

The CD-S2000 SACD, CD Player plays both MP3 and WMA files and has XL and optical/coaxial digital outputs. Then we have the Yamaha A-S2000 amplifier which is the most important part of your sound system, you have two power settings, first is 190-watts x 2 at 4-ohms and then the second is 120-watts x 2 at 8-ohms.

Engadget say that both these models are aimed at the high end of the market as the Yamaha CD-S2000 SACD will cost about $1,824 and the Yamaha A-S2000 amplifier will cost $1,540). Both are due for release in December.
