Popular 80′s games Ys I and II getting a Nintendo DS remake

Remember Ys I and II which was very popular in the 80’s, it seems as if the game is to have a makeover and what games system will the remake be coming too? Only the hottest selling handheld the Nintendo DS. Over the years this RPG has become very popular and has seen many sequels on a number of games consoles.

The Ys I and Ys II Nintendo DS remake will get some new features, including new character animations such as being able to swing a sword instead of the old way of just bumping in to your enemies. You will also have new enemies to fight with along with some new maps.

As it is the Nintendo DS Ys I and II will be able to utilize both screens, the top will display the game field while the bottom will show the player stats. 1 UP does say that the Ys I and Ys II will be released as separate games and will cost about $44 each, both games are hoped to be released sometime in the Spring 2008 in Japan, we are not sure when the games will be released in other countries.
