The hunt is still on for a British mother whose seven-year-old daughter fell from a fifth floor window at the hotel the family were staying at in Majorca. A number of theories are being investigated about how Gianna Cooper fell from her family’s apartment.
Police are considering the possibility that Gianna was climbing over a balcony to reach a neighbouring room where her brothers were staying. A calas de Majorca hotel worker has confirmed that children are sometimes seen climbing the edge of the building to reach other rooms.
Sara Cooper, Gianna’s mother, went missing just minutes after he daughter was discovered on an office roof next to the hotel. It has been reported by a senior police source that Mrs Cooper told her husband Ian their daughter had fallen before she left Hotel Samoa.
A spokeswoman for the police said,
“We are looking for the mother but at this stage we do not want to speculate as to whether she was involved. We are searching for her in the area of Calas de Majorca which is an area containing mountains and beach.”
While the search for Gianna’s mother continues, the Cooper family have been by Gianna’s side at the Hospital Universitario Son Dureta while she recovers.
