Nintendo’s Wii Sports wins out at BAFTA’s for games: Who won what

Well yesterday it was the day of the BAFTA’s for games and it was obvious from the outset that one game was going to clean up at the awards, at that was Nintendo’s Wii Sports which managed to win 6 out of the 13 gongs that were up for grabs. The panel at last night’s British Academy Video Games Awards which was held in Battersea, London said about Wii Sports “the ability to captivate and engage a user’s attention and provide a compelling experience.”
The categories that Nintendo’s Wii Sports won were Strategy and Simulation, Best Sports, Multiplayer,
Casual and Social, Gameplay, and Innovation. The main award on the night went to Bioshock which was developed by Take-Two and was for the Microsoft Xbox 360 and PC, which won Game of the Year.

- The Gamers’ Award: Football Manager 2007 (PC)
