McLaren Appeals Against Rivals’ Errors

It has been reported that Lewis Hamilton’s F1 team are formally appealing against a FIA decision not to penalise four drivers at the Brazilian grand prix. Apparently, McLaren wants to get the racers disqualified and subsequently hand the title to the British rookie in the process, but Hamilton is not so sure it’s the right thing to do.
Hamilton has said he doesn’t want to win through disqualifications claiming the move would be “bad for the sport” and “a bit cruel”. He added,
“It would feel weird after Kimi did such a fantastic job in the last two races and won on Sunday.”
The four drivers were originally investigated for fuel irregularities after the race on Sunday, but the governing body FIA have said there was not enough evidence to penalise them.
Three of the four drivers in the investigation had finished ahead of Hamilton. If two of them were to be disqualified, Hamilton will find himself moving up and claiming the title.
A statement on their website read, “The team wishes to win races and championships on the track. However, if there has been an irregularity, which is not the fault of the team, we feel that the matter must be properly examined to ensure that the rules are applied.”
The drivers in question are Nico Roseberg (fourth-place), Robert Kubica (fifth-place), Nick Heidfeld (sixth-place) and 10th place Kazuki Nakajima.
