I like a good joke like the next man, but when it comes to stupid jokes about missing child Madeline McCann it is a new level of despicable taste. The joke featured in a comedy sketch from the Bremner, Bird and Fortune’ show in which it showed Gordon Brown finding Madeleine on the eve of a general election and use it as a publicity tool.
This sick sketch has angered many viewers and as a result Sky News confirms that Ofcom has now received 55 complaints, many believe that Channel 4 has now reached a new low. However Channel 4 has said that the sketch was aimed at how far Politicians will go to, and that the sketch was not aimed at the McCann family in any way.
What are your thoughts on this, I for one think that the sketch is one step too far

I really think some complaining has gone too far. The real problem is that the McCanns have worked their way to celebrity status and now people think jokes cannot be made about them or their daughter. I mean, what happened to free speech?
Nearly every joke has the potential to hurt someone’s feelings so why should we be particular about the McCanns when the joke is about Gordon Brown? Did any complaint put Gordon Brown’s honesty as the reason for complaining? I thought not!
I don’t think that the problem is the Mc canns, The mac cann’s to me are incredible remarcably doing everything they can to find their daughter, the way I am, a person very stuborn and who never gives up, specially on a son or daughter, i totally realte to them. The truth is that some people are morons who think that they can make a joke by someones suffering, just because “they can”. No wonder tha channel whent down on raithings, are we going to make some jokes on 911 too? that was pretty well known news around the world. How about new orleans?. There are some limits to freedom of speach,it’s called “respect others”
