Xbox 360 Outsells PS3 5 to 1: Which Is Your Favourite Console?

The fight still goes on with Microsoft’s Xbox 360 battling it out with the PlayStation 3.
As it stands for the sale figures Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has out sold the PlayStation 3 5:1 in September, showing a 50% increase from August sales, that’s an average of 105,600 consoles per week.
Total sales were more than 528,000 Xbox 360 consoles sold, compared to 119,000 for PS3.
Sony continues to insist that it doesn’t really care about sales over Christmas 2007, and is instead concentrating on mass market appeal for Christmas 2008.

Well yeah 360 is selling PS3 5 to 1 in September. Like I said awesome good job for the 360. This is the best it can do since Halo 3 is there biggest game and there will not be another game until Halo 4 (not Halo wars since RTS will turn people off). Plus the game that did the most moving of systems was Gears of War. 360’s will never be sold like that again with over 4 million shipped. Why you ask? Well everyone who wants a 360 for the great AAA shooters usually has one.
PS3 outsells 360 everywhere usually except for the US where 360 is outselling it very well. So yeah the 360 showed its big hand already and that is the best they can do because it can’t get bigger than the Halo 3 launch. PS3 hasn’t even had there Gears title yet so I guess MS is probably afraid. Maybe thats why they are trying to add a HD DVD into the 360.
Hey @one, are you forgetting about mass effect which is supposly going to out sell halo 3 and um orange box is doing awsome in sells right know so what are you saying I mean come on there is tons of other great games coming out for the xbox 360 its not only going to sell good because of halo 3 and what gears of war did its going to sell dramaticaly because there is other great games coing out for the xbox 360. And another thing you forgot about Bioshock witch sold more than gears did on launch so its not just because of halo 3 and gears of war know is it. Um and the ps3 will never have Gears of war not because of MS but because of Epic. And I dont understand you your talkng about games and then you just bring up HD DVD, and also the ps3 does not out sell the xbox 360 everywhere from what I hear it only outsells the xbox 360 in japan. Oh and yes mass effect can have a bigger hand than halo 3 did man so its still not over. And next year it still will not be over with tom clancys end war coming this spring for the xbox 360 and tom clancys splinter cell condemned, and also fallout 3 witch I have been looking up is going to be exclusive to the xbox 360 the way sony has been going with delaying stuff who knows when the ps3 will get 2 or 3 games that are supposed to come out when they are suppused to. And remember MS has gave japan a huge price cut for the xbox 360 in japan see people in japan are asking for RPG well when mass effect comes out and then this price cut MS just did I think the xbox 360 will sell good another month in japan like it did with Halo 3.

Mass Effect will not outsell Halo 3. Period.
Bioshock will not outsell Gears. Period. Bioshock is awesome but it just didn’t have the push that Gears had such as marketing, etc.
Mass Effect will be cool but it will not move systems like Gears did. THe reason why Gears moved some many systems was there wasn’t a game for the 360 that good until then. Once there was a reason to get a 360 a lot of people did. This is why Halo 3 didn’t move as many systems as Gears did since most of the people who want Halo 3 already got a 360 when Gears came out.
Also Gears does not come on PS3 due to Microsoft buying the firtst Gears and its sequel. Gears 3 is not owned by MS so its a safe bet it will be multiplatform. You forget Epic is putting Unreal 3 on PS3 first and its the same engine as Gears. If it was up to Epic they would multiplatform GEars from the beginning.
Also I dont think you know what you are talking about because Fallout 3 is not exclusive and is coming on PS3

Bioshock was going to multiplatform until MS bought it out.
Japan just doesn’t care about the 360, US does and its even with the two consoles in Europe. Everywhere else is PS3.
When I mentioned the HD DVD I assumed you knew MS was making a new 360 with an HD DVD drive included. Adding a high definition drive in a video game console. Sounds like someone is trying to compete with the PS3
Oh and I did know about the hddvd but we are talking about games and no Ea said Mass effect will be only on the xbox 360 and bioshock sold more than gears did on launch come on man get your facts straight and yes the xbox 360 did have alot of good games before gears they had COD2 and oblivion and GRAW and madden so before you go saying gears was the only good game you are wrong and also halo3 moved way more xbox 360s and games than gears did, gears only sold 3 million games on launch and halo 3 over 170 million in Halo3 games, and another thing this is how I know you are about the stupidest guy on gaming you said gears of war 3 is going to be on the ps3 well let me tell you this they havnt even talked about a gears of war3 I mean gears of war 2 hasnt even came out yet you are dumb and you dont know what you are talking about and also gears of war 2 is going to be exclusive to the xbox 360. And hey do you now the president of Ea huh do ya well it is peter from the MS yeh so and also EA is not always multi platform and they have said mass effect is going to stay an exclusive for the xbox 360 and also Fallout is only for the xbox 360 said by Bethesda studios. Oh and japan dont care about the 360 well thats a lie when in sept it was the nber one selling console for that month so they must care about the 360 and its games halo 3 was the number one selling game in japan in sept and still is now in october the number one game raters in japan gave halo3 one of the best ratings ever given in japan. And another thing I said bioshock out sold gears on launch how about you read I was trying to tell you gears isnt the only one doing good. Oh and if cod4 and end war and fallout 3 are coming out for the ps3 why do us people with xbox live get all the demos for these games and the trailors and PSN is not getting this content while when MS only paid for exclusive content for grand theft auto please do tell. And I know most of the games I metiond doesnt have a demo for it yet but we did get to see a demo make of these games at E3 only on the xbox 360. The creators of assassins creed only has a demo for the xbox 360 they said it is to hard to make it on the ps3 and dont call me a lier because i was there at E3 thank you!
Oh and MS didnt pay for Gears because the xbox 360 was the only one out for them to make the game on duh they had it in the bag and so epic just kept it on the xbox 360.
I have got to say; you cannot call yourself a real gamer if you don’t like the 360 as it currently stands. Lets face it; all that matters is the games and right now it is clear that the 360 has LOADs of good games exclusive to the console and the PS3 has really, well, one (heavenly sword). I mean you would be really ’stupid’/'not finacially able’ if you actually liked playing games and didn’t get one, missing out on gears, halo, mass effect, bioshock etc. Playstation are going to have some good games comming out but they should of thought about that before releasing a games console that has no good games to sell it. However to be honest, I think its too early to speculate; its possible Sony missed the boat or maybe they will turn the heat up and start releasing some well made killer apps. One thing is for sure competition makes people work harder; which makes games cheaper and better. I hope the competition never ends. I couldn’t care less about PS3 or Xbox fan boys, I just want to play good games.

Let me break things down to you. IF you want to respond then it will be easier.
1) Fallout 3 is going to be on PS3. I linked it for you. Go to the site and it says PS3 right on the site. Its listed as coming on the PS3. If you think its exclusive call them and tell them to stop advertising it on there site for the PS3 and tell them to stop development for it on the PS3.
2) Halo 3 sold a lot of copies of the game not a lot of consoles liked Gears did. Halo 3 came out and they moved 550,000 consoles for September. Gears came out and they shipped 4.4 million consoles for the month of November. Quite a big difference. Even if you add October console sales in with September its still will not be more than how many Gears sold. Period.
3)MS bought Gears of War and Gears of war 2. They do not own the rights to Gears of War 3. Epic has Said plenty of times the first Gears of War will not be on PS3 since its not up to them but owned by MS.
4)I never said Gears outsold Bioshock on launch. I am saying Gears has helped moved the most consoles to date. 4.4 million shipped. No other 360 game even comes close to moving that many consoles. Period. No arguement. Does this mean Gears is the best game? No. I’m not saying that all the other games were crap before than but they weren’t enough to make someone go out and buy a system.
5)Plus you keep saying Gears sold 3 million units at launch. Uh Thats more than Bioshock who hasn’t reached 2 million units sold yet. Your words not mine.
6) Halo 3 sold 170 million DOLAARS not units sold. Its hasn’t even outsold Halo 2.
7) The 360 did not beat anything in September in Japan. It actually sold more during the week October 8th ti the 14th than its did on when Halo 3 came out and guess what? Still Behind PS3, Wii,PS2,DS and the PSP. Well at least it beat the Gameboy advance out there!

8)EA said nothing on Mass Effect except they own the ip not MS. When the devs were asked if Mass Effect would be multiplatform they said not the first one. When asked if the sequels would be multiplatform they said thats in the future but only the first Mass Effect is a 360 exclusive since MS only bought the exclusive rights for the first one.
9) Unreal 3, Devil May Cry 4 are just two multiplatform games that the demo is running on PS3.
10) As for Assassin’s Creed they stated they were having problems with both systems.
11) Halo 3 was on top of Japans chart for a week and then it dropped out of the top 20 the next week.
12)Exclusive content for GTA 4 is there because MS paid for it. GTA 4 is only coming out the same time as PS3 because MS paid for it to be shipped the same day as the PS3. Rockstar planned to put it own 360 6 months to a year later until MS paid for them not to.
I don’t believe that Gears sold 4 million consoles I believe that the Christmas season sold 4 Million 360’s I bought My 360 the day PS3 came out. They had a sale that included Ridge Racer, Live Arcade Disk, GRAw, and Gears of War. I didn’t even know what Gears of War was at the time. As you can tell I was blown away. I was looking to upgrade from the old Xbox. It just so happens the deal I wanted came along. And I also know a bit of people that still have not upgraded. So maybe it’s this season. Plus many of my Playstation friends have converted just because of Live. They see how cool it is and they got to get in because they feel their missing out.
