Xbox 360 Outsells PS3 5 to 1: Which Is Your Favourite Console?

The fight still goes on with Microsoft’s Xbox 360 battling it out with the PlayStation 3.
As it stands for the sale figures Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has out sold the PlayStation 3 5:1 in September, showing a 50% increase from August sales, that’s an average of 105,600 consoles per week.
Total sales were more than 528,000 Xbox 360 consoles sold, compared to 119,000 for PS3.
Sony continues to insist that it doesn’t really care about sales over Christmas 2007, and is instead concentrating on mass market appeal for Christmas 2008.

They did of course miss out the fact that Sony in total still sold more consoles in the US last month than Microsoft. And before people say ‘the psp and ps2 dont count’ of course they do. You are only saying they dont count because Microsoft dont have a handheld and they f****d up the Xbox or they would still be selling it. Its not Sony and Nintendo’s fault Microsoft dont have a good enough range of consoles to compete with them.
Sony and Nintendo are pissing on Microsoft from a great height even with Halo boosting their sales.
US September console sales by manufacturer:
Nintendo - 996,800
Sony - 618,500
Microsoft - 527,800
Japanese September console sales by manufacturer:
Sony - 613,623
Nintendo - 413,061
Microsoft - 10,574
So the total console sales in those 2 regions for September are:
Nintendo - 1,409,861
Sony - 1,232,123
Microsoft - 538,374
And that’s in the month that Microsoft released their biggest game and spent ridiculous amounts of money plugging it. Sony and Nintendo are vastly more popular with gamers than Microsoft. That is hard undeniable fact.

Ye, but we are comparing this generation not last generation.
Sorry, graphically the PS3 is no better at all than the Xbox 360. The games are currently much much better for the 360, and most developers that at one time were exclusive Sony bitches, are going to be making games for both platforms. I am sure the PS3 will be fine, and if they ever get a game worth more than just pissing on, then I might even get one. The Wii was not included in this conversation because it is a whole different, simpler, form of entertainment, I do enjoy mine, but it is different in almost the same way the PSP, and Nintendo DS are different than the 360 and PS3. I hope that PS3 rebounds and at lest pushes Microsoft, but for now it is a failure and there are no games at all to speak of. So those 100,000 people who bought PS3 are really the victims here.

The PS3 has sold as well as the 360 did in its first year but its done so with a higher price, no AAA titles and its only been on sale in the EU for 9 months. The 360 also had no competition.
More importantly which console has the best software sales. I think its the 360 by a landslide. Also since everyone is always saying once you add in a HD-DVD and whatever the 360 is a worse deal I think its fair to say if you add backwards compatibility to the PS3 you should tack on the price of a PS2 as well so PS3 price + 150 for a PS2 dosent seem like a good deal anymore does it.
Why does everyone keep on forgetting about mass effect it comes out next month and and so does COD4 and assassins creed and also next year, end war, Fallout 3 exclusive to 360 so who really is going to have the best holiday this year and next year um… I would have to say the xbox 360 because who can trust sony there always re-dating things and holding back on stuff sony has no clue what they are doing, the game or community home is not going to be as great as they say, you cant even find your friends on psn what makes you think your going to find them on that Home game? Wow its so crazy how people just forget about these other awsome games that are coming out for the xbox 360. And why do you possibly think mario galaxy is going to sell consoles if there are nintendo fans out there that still has a gamecube and waiting for some mario game to come out for them to get a wii they are stupid wouldnt you think everyone that wanted a wii would have got it for the Zelda game look most wii are selling because some fat people out there heard about wii fitness and heard how many cals you burn and went out and and bought it for that reason. Halo3 is an awsome game and its not the last one people they said they are going to make some more but its about what happend before the halos.
Hey jerky your numbers are wrong you stupid ps3 fan ps3 has not out sold anything not even in japan in sept xbox 360 was the number 1 seller in that country now since halo3 deal is over its starting to go down but till it does the wii out sells ps3 in japan and the xbox 360 outsells the ps3 every where except japan so get your numbers right because they are so wrong if you see that chart up there the 360 is craping and peeing all over the ps3 so dont come on here and make your self look like a moreon with the fake numbers. Look on one part you say the ps3 is outselling the wii and then below that it says the wii is out selling the ps3 it dont make since yo your first numbers and your second dont make since. It should say xbox 360 selling the most and then the wii and then like ten spaces down the ps3 because right now the xbox 360 is out selling the two consoles because of halo3 and then it will still be out selling the two consoles in NOV because of mass effect. Hey remember xbox 360 is out selling the ps3 5 to 1 according to every site and news deal i go on it says that all over the internet.

Thank you for posting that. I don’t see how anyone can call the PS3 a failure when it sold about the same as the 360 did when it was launched.
Please remember the 360 had no competition for next gen gaming. So please tell me how the PS3 is a failure when its doing the same as the 360 when it launched but with competition, higher price and the so-called no games?

the forecase is lookin like blu ray are going to win the High definition war. as they are continuing to get more exclusive, plus the PS3 is one of the cheapest on the market. Xbox you have to buy your HDD seperate anyway.
*has built in wi-fi
you have to buy it for the xbox
*supports 7 wireless controllers
nearly double that of the xbox 360
*has more future exclusives
*by far a quieter system (in case you do want to watch a high definition movie)
*has HDMI socket
*doesn’t overheat
*has free online play which is easy to use
*simply a better deal in terms of hardware for money.
