We are in to the second day of meetings between the New York Yankees and owner George Steinbrenner, and they still will not say if they are to bring back Joe Torre as manager for a 13th season. Both Steinbrenner and the NYY have said that they hold Torre in the highest regard, which is why they are taking their time to make a decision. The said that they need to spend some time on this issue so that they can do what is best for the baseball teams future.
Reports from Sports Yahoo say that a person that is familiar with these meetings, thinks that a decision could be made sometime Thursday or Friday, but we will have to wait and see how things progress. Joe Torre has a three-year contract with the New York Yankees, which is worth $19.2 million and is set to expire on October 31st.
