Should The Game Be Banned?

It has been reported that thousands of gamers are now downloading a video game which has been banned because of its graphic scenes of torture and murder. The game, Manhunt 2, features a character who goes on a killing spree in a mental institution. It is the only game to be banned by British sensors in the past 10 years.

The British Board of Film Classification refused to allow it to go on sale because of its ‘relentless violence’ and ‘casual sadism’. However, this hasn’t stopped gamers playing it as it has now been leaked onto the web – available for anyone to download.

Despite Manhunt 2 manufacturer Rockstar carrying out changes to the game, the BBFC still refused the game.

No-one is allowed to play the game, but thousands of people are downloading it.

Gaming expert Rob Fahey has commented,

“What’s disturbing about the game is you play a killer. There’s no victim to sympathise with, there’s no particularly complex storyline; you simply go around killing people in extraordinarily violent ways… there’s no moral framework around it.”

Rockstar is currently appealing against the British board of Film Classification ban.

    Definitely this kind of game should be banned as it may affect a persons mental health. several kind of mental disorders may get developed.

    Again the media ignoring facts. No one is downloading the game as the game hasn’t been released.

    It shouldn’t be banned as it’s wrong that it will course mental health problems. If that was the case then you could say the same about horror flicks and other such products.

    hi my name is nicky forbes and i am 25 years old i think the game should come out because lots of people are get in it from the web and it is not as horrible as dead rising for xbox 360 you can use a chansaw to cut lots of zomibes up then you can take a weapon and put some one on the weapond and there blood comes porne out and you can attack other zomibes and bits of there bodys comes of then you can take a lonemore and cut all the zomibes up in to tiny pices this is a game that should be banned not manhunt 2 and all so grand theft auto because he can take a sword and cut some one and there blood will come porne out lots of horrible things you can do on this to game but there more horrible then mahunt 2

    nicky, you say youre 25? dude, your spelling sucks! for example: “people are get in it from the web” do you mean getting it?. or ” blood comes porne out” i didnt know blood could make porn? try pouring out? and my favorite is “take a lonemore and cut all the zomibes up” you spelled (lawnmower) and (zombies) wrong. its not that hard..lol.
