Is Kate McCann Being Punished For Not Looking Maternal Enough?

The mother of Kate McCann has said her daughter fears she’s being persecuted by people who think she is involved with daughter Madeleine’s disappearance because she apparently doesn’t look maternal enough.
Madeleine’s Grandmother, Susan Healy has said she realises that her daughter Mrs McCann and her husband Gerry made a “terrible mistake” when leaving their three children alone in their Portuguese holiday apartment.
She went on to defend her daughter, who has been named a formal suspect in Madeleine’s disappearance on May 3rd, along with her husband Gerry.
Talking to the Liverpool Echo, Mrs Healy said,
“She said last night, ‘If I weighed another two stone, had a bigger bosom and looked more maternal, people would be more sympathetic’. I think it’s terrible that she’s having to think like that.”
“She does feel persecuted - not by the general public, who have been extremely supportive, but by some sections of the media, and I just feel it’s important I let people know she is not this person who is in control all the time.”
Mrs Healy has described her daughter as “one of the most maternal people I know” and has said her daughter’s life revolved around her children. Mrs Healy and her husband Brian from Merseyside have revealed that they continue to cling to the hope that their granddaughter is alive.
A family friend has recently dismissed reports that a leak suggested that forensic tests prove a corpse was transported in the families hire car. According to sources, bodily fluids from a corpse were found in the boot of the Renault Scenic rented by the McCann’s 25 days after Madeleine disappeared
Clarence Mitchell, the spokesman for the McCanns has spoken about this matter, saying,
“I cannot comment on any further unsubstantiated reports out of Portugal, or on any matter that potentially goes to the heart of the inquiry. I would urge you to look at the source and view all claims without substantiation with scepticism.”
Another friend close to the family has put forward the notion that the Portuguese detectives working on the case were leaking this information to the press to give the impression that their inquiries were on track and successful.
“Gerry and Kate have got nothing to hide. They did not harm their daughter and it is arrant nonsense to suggest otherwise. It is not true - there was no corpse in the boot of that vehicle. Let’s face it, if it was definitive proof that a body was in there, would they still be sitting at home in Leicestershire? They would be under arrest.”
The Birmingham-based Forensic Science Service spokesman has released this statement,
“As far as I am aware our work is still ongoing. It is a live, ongoing investigation so we cannot comment on anything relating to it.”

No I do not think she is being persecuted for not loking maternal enough. The reason she lost public support was because we all waited for the McCanns to admit that it is never acceptable to leave small children unattended. Instead we were told that it was a normal occurance and something they also practised at home! People do not empathise with Kate because they see her actions and reactions as abnormal and different to theirs. The mere fact that she thinks it is due to her looks despite people voicing their opinions goes to show how out of touch with the rest of society this couple really are.
Big boobs may get some extra men to fancy her but it will not make her come across as any more maternal.
