Four England football fans have been taken to a Moscow hospital after a fight broke out in the Russian capital ahead of the Euro 2008 qualifier this afternoon. It has been reported that as many as six England supporters have been injured.
Evgenii Gildeev, Police spokesman said that the injured fans had been taken to the Botkan hospital. It is not yet known how serious the injuries are.
Gildeev went on to say that the fans had been out clubbing and drinking in central Moscow in the early hours of the morning and had provoked a fight. There have been five fights involving England supporters in the city just last night alone. Moscow currently has around 4,500 England fans staying there ahead of the match at the Luzhniki Stadium. 2,400 police officers have been put on duty in case of trouble. There are also armoured vehicles on standby.
Do you think enough is being done to stop football fans fighting?
