As I thought when taking out a mortgage, every thing would have to go through your provider.

Research by the Post Office has shown that by purchasing cover through your mortgage provider we brits are wasting £600 million by year.

It does save time to have your cover through your provider as its one less thing to think about when purchasing a property.

You do when purchasing a property that you have adequate cover for your building, contents and life insurance. The Post Office has revealed that we could save £170.00 by shopping around.

You should also shop around for your payment protection policies for your mortgage to get the best deal. These types of policies should be in place to ensure that in the event of sickness, injury or being made redundant that your mortgage payment will be made
