Mark Ruffalo In Hit And Run Drama Reservation Road

Mark Ruffalo has to be one of my favourite actors right now. He’s great in everything he does and it’s a shame he’s so underrated. He deserves to get the utmost amount of attention for his performance in Reservation Road, an adaptation of John Burnham Schwartz’s stirring novel about the grief and guilt surrounding a hit ‘n’ run accident.
Terry George (Hotel Rwanda) directed the film adaptation and Ruffalo plays Dwight Arno, a Connecticut lawyer who’s separated from his wife (Mira Sorvino) but still wants to spend time with his young son. That time may be taken away from him after he hits and kills a young boy with his SUV and decides to drive off. Dwight becomes racked with guilt and is suddenly in constant contact with the boy’s grieving parents (Joaquin Phoenix and Jennifer Connelly), without them realizing he’s to blame.
This is Ruffalo’s juiciest role and the film itself sounds amazing. Many people will focus on the grief of the dead boys parents but I really think that Mark Ruffalo has the most intense part.
