According to engadget, Intel will be “designing a new architecture specifically for the ultra-low cost laptop category” and that includes the OLPC (one laptop per child) project.
If everything goes as planned then we should see the CPU for the OLPC at the Intel Developer Forum in Shanghai when it’s held on April 2-3rd 2008.
The OLPC laptop has to have a microprocessor that has a new architecture because of the “small size, low cost and low power consumption”.
