Apple’s iPod was the benchmark, is Halo 3 another bench mark?

We all knew before the iPod was launched how successful this MP3 come multimedia centre was going to be. The thing that made the Apple’s iPod the benchmark was the fact that it was an MP3 player and also the new generation models became video players as well as a photo viewer. No other multimedia player has come close. The Microsoft Zune, Philips HDD120 Recording Audio, Creative Zen Touch, Dell Digital Jukebox, and the Rio Karma are all great product but still no match for the Apple iPod.
Is Halo 3 for the Microsoft Xbox 360 about to become another benchmark, and the people behind the games success are the games developer Bungie. This game is as we expected the top selling game, but what makes the game so good, that is such a hard question to answer as many players will have different answers to that. What I do know is that you can have other games like Gears of War, Assassin Creed, and Call of Duty but none can match the success of the Halo series especially Halo 3.
Do you think that any of the upcoming games will be a match of the Xbox 360 game Halo 3, as there are some great games being released in time for the holiday season?

Sorry to be a troll, but you really do talk a lot of bollocks.
We knew - pre-launch - that the iPod was going to be a success, did we? How, precisely? On Apple’s previous track record in the personal music player market? Or, for that matter, the consumer entertainment market? At all? Hello?
As cool as Halo is I think when Grand Theft Auto IV hits it will sell more than Halo 3. Halo 3 hasn’t sold more than San Andreas and a lot of people are looking forward to this game. I don’t think it will be Halo 3 in day one sales but overall it will not even including the PS3 version. GTA4 will sell moe on the 360 than Halo 3 did in my opinion. Add the PS3 version in and Halo 3 will not be close.
I meant to say that not a single Halo has outsold San Andreas
I have to agree with Dave,
The Ipod was no sure thing for Apple, their own fanboys were almost apoplectic at the move into consumer electronics and they had no track record in that field.
As for Halo 3, I have never really “got” the Halo series, I have played all 3 and they are good shooters, but not superlative (Bioshock, Half life 2 etc). That said they do sell well, but how are they going to set benchmarks?
Graphics are slightly sub par compared with Bioshock or Resistance the 2 other shooters I have finished lately
Campaign is short, again compared to the above
Multiplayer is good, but probably not as good as TF2 or on a par with pretty much any other online shooter.
Please don’t take this as a criticism of your writing, it is ok, just try to have something to say!
But every Halo has outsold San Andreas many times over when you consider the percentage of people owning the console capable of playing the game who have it. When a game has 150 million consoles to be played on it will likely have higher sales than a game with 10 or 20 million consoles to be played on.
