Airbus is set to deliver the first A380 superjumbo to Singapore Airlines, with the delivery taking place this Monday. Airbus hope that this will restore some pride that they have lost over recent months as the Airbus A380 superjumbo plane was dogged by many delays, as well as share scandals.
It has taken 7 years to get to the handing over ceremony, and has cost Airbus $15.5 billion to create what will now be the world’s largest passenger airliner. Over 500KM of wiring is used in the A380, this is what caused many the jetliners’ delays and also caused the loss of 10,000 jobs.
Although it is now 18 months later than planned, Singapore Airlines will finally get their first aircraft this Monday, and it will be used for flights between Singapore and Sydney from 28th October. However, there will be a fight on the 25th October which will raise money for charity.
