The McCann’s Threaten Legal Action Over Twin Drug Claims

It has been reported that Gerry and Kate McCann may take legal action against media outlets who claim the couple sedated their daughter on the night she disappeared. The warning comes after new allegations that have surfaced in the Portuguese press.

One newspaper have printed allegations that test on evidence carried out in the UK suggest that the four-year-old twins Sean and Amelie were drugged on May 3rd. The couples spokesman has said the allegations were hurtful and that he would monitor how the British press were covering the claims made by the Portuguese press.

Clarence Mitchell continued,

“Contrary to renewed speculation in the Portuguese press, Gerry and Kate McCann wish to make it categorically clear that they have never, ever used sedatives on their children. To suggest otherwise is as outrageous as it is hurtful.

“Lawyers for the McCanns will be monitoring British coverage of the latest Portuguese claims very closely and will take action if it’s felt necessary.”

Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas have claimed a Policia Judiciaria source said the results came from preliminary results from tests carried out at the Forensic Science Service laboratory in Birmingham in September.

What do you make of these new findings? Do you believe the McCann’s were capable of such a thing?
