500 Jobs Under Threat As Electrolux Factory May Move Abroad

Around 500 jobs are on the line at Electrolux’s Spennymoor plant near Durham.
Electrolux is the world’s second biggest home appliances maker but has still been hit in recent years by intense global competition and falling prices.
The company said a review of the site’s future viability will be concluded by the end of the year, with Electrolux considering moving production to a European country with cheaper costs.
