It’s 40 years since Ernesto “Che” Guevara died after he was captured and executed by CIA-backed Bolivian soldiers in the village of La Higuera
His youngest son, Ernesto Guevara and supporters have been marking his life with a five-day World Che Festival.
Hundreds of multi-coloured chequered flags, the banner of the Campesinos – the oppressed indigenous people of the Andes – were being hoisted into the air.
Tourists today can walk the route that Che took and be filmed in the laundry room where his body lay.
