Brits and Travel Insurance

Research by the Post Office has uncovered that around half of British holiday makers have travelled around without insurance.
Some travellers believed the insurance to be a waste of money, whilst other forgot to buy it. The actual reality is that if you require medical attention abroad, this could be very costly and be a lot of hassle.
The excuse that insurance is expensive is not particularly true as single trip insurance can cost as little as £3.95, Norwich Union, last year paid out over £23 million for medical emergencies, with the average claim in the region of £1,200.00.
Most people assume that health care within Europe is free (as I myself thought), but to obtain the minimal amount of medical treatment for free you will need a European Health Insurance Card which replaced the E111
