October 10, 2007 | Filed under News

Around the world wind farms are becoming more popular for producing power to homes.
Now Australia is to build a giant wind farm consisting of around 500 wind turbines producing a capacity of up to 1,000 megawatts powering up to 400,000 homes
It is estimated that the construction of the wind farm will cost around AU$2bn and will take between three to four years to complete the project starting in 2009.
Once the wind farm is complete it is predicted that it will reduce Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions by at least 3 million tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.
Your thoughts: Is wind Farming the way to go or should the world concentrate on purifying water for those that don’t have clean water?
