Stars Sign On To Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist

The fantastic Michael Cera (Superbad, Juno) and Kat Dennings (40 Year Old Virgin) have signed on to star in Mandate Pictures’ big screen adaptation of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.

The Novel, written by Rachel Cohn and David Lavithan has been adapted into a screenplay by Lorene Scafaria and directed by Peter Sollett. The novel begins with Nick asking Norah to be his girlfriend for five minutes. Five minutes is all he needs to avoid his ex-girlfriend, who has just walked into his band’s show with a new guy.

With just one kiss, Nick and Norah set off on an adventure set against the backdrop of New York City.

The novel is told in alternating chapters, teeming with musical references, humor, angst and endearing side characters. I assume the film will be pretty much the same.
Production on the film is set to begin later this year.
