Portuguese Detectives Launch New Search At Madeleine McCann Apartment

It has been reported that Portuguese detectives have launched new searches at the apartment where Madeleine McCann disappeared. This is the first time the detectives have returned to the scene since late July. The seven officers entered the house at 7am today and remained inside until the early afternoon as they continued their attempt to build a case against suspects Gerry and Kate McCann.
Among the officers was Chief Inspector Tavares Almeida, the officer who recently asked to be taken off the case on unpaid leave after interviewing Mrs McCann. In the eyes of the Portuguese police, the apartment in Praia da Luz “holds the key” to solving the case of missing Madeleine.
There were also new searches at the beach and DNA samples from the flat and the McCann’s hire care are still being processed every week.
Lawyers acting for the parents have hired their own forensic experts to repudiate the DNA evidence which allegedly links the parents to the four-year-old’s disappearance.
Gerry and Kate McCann insist that all the allegations made against them can be made innocently and have gone “on the front foot” in making sure they have a defence case to clear them of their suspect status.
