Portugal’s Finest Joins Madeleine Case

One of Portugal’s most senior detectives is taking charge of Madeline McCann’s disappearance investigation. Paulo Rebelo will take charge after Goncalo Amaral was sacked for accusing the missing girl’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, of manipulating British police.
Mr Rebelo is quite accustomed to cases like this. He has worked on several high-profile investigations in recent years including allegations that a child sex ring operated at a state-run children’s home.
Rebelo will move to Southern Portugal, where Madeleine disappeared and will start work within the next few days. The news comes as Mr and Mrs McCann’s spokesman attacked claims that DNA test results show Madeleine’s parents are involved with their daughter’s disappearance.
Mr Mitchell, spokesman for the McCann’s has insisted the couple have nothing to hide and there was an innocent explanation for the police’s findings.
Speaking on British TV show GMTV, Mr Mitchell said,
“Officially, I cannot discuss the detailed aspects of the case - it is still very much an active police investigation. What I can say though is Kate and Gerry have nothing to hide at all. They are perfectly happy to answer any of this, if it comes to it.
“There are wholly innocent explanations for anything the police may or may not have found. That has been the case from day one - and it remains the case. Frankly, some of the headlines … are a complete disgrace.”
He went on to say the couple were coping with what has happened and were throwing themselves into working on their defence.

Clarence Mitchell is quick to say that the McCanns will readily answer all questions put to them about the details of May 3rd but in actuality–they refused to answer the most important questions that could aid the investigation–those put to them by the PJ. The Tapas 9 have refused questioning. The McCanns could more fully assist this investigation. Instead, they are quick to orchestrate contrived messaging in response to media allegations. They’re actions/Clarence Mitchell’s words are hyporcritical. This investigations–the search for a beautiful soul, Madeleine–has been diminished to what seems more like a chess game –at its core a desperate attempt for Kate and Gerry to preserve their own reputations. This appears more important to them than finding Madeleine. This isn’t being done to them–its what they are doing. They don’t take repsonsibility for this anymore than they will take responsibility for leaving Madeleine, Sean and Amelie alone in a foreign country.
