Kristen Bell To Star In Mnemovore Adaptation?

Hans Rodionoff (Mnemovore) treated fans at the H.P Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland this week with 10 minutes from a proposed big screen adaptation of his comic book series. The clip wasn’t low budget, as you would expect, and starred Kristen Bell in the lead role.

Rodionoff will be directing the film based on his own screenplay. He also confirmed that Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth) is on board as Executive Producer. It hyas been reported that Rodionoff filmed the demo reel at the request of del Toro in order to demonstrate his abilities as a film director. Rodionoff made his filmmaking debut with the no-budget Troma horror comedy Sucker.

Mnemovore is a ‘horror’ comic that ran monthly from April 2005. The plot focussed on the story of Kaley, an amnesiac former pro snow boarder who makes a terrifying discovery - her snowboarding accident sets her up in the unique position to battle a centuries-old Lovecraftian entity that feeds on the memories of mankind. She finds herself fighting to protect the loved ones she no longer remembers.

Although it’s not set in stone that Bell will be starring in the eventual film, I’m sure she didn’t participate in the demo as a favor. If Bell does star, and the cast is on point, it sounds like this movie could be very interesting.
