High School Musical 2 Goes Global

This is great news for all of the High School Musical Fans out there because it’s been reported that Disney-ABC International Television the distribution arm of The Walt Disney Company, has just completed a deal for High School Musical 2 to air in over 40 countries.
The film has been licensed for free-to-air TV broadcasters including the BBC and RTE, along with RTI in Italy, ProSieben in Germany, M6 France, Channel 1 Russia, and SABC South Africa. In the Asia-Pacific region CCTV6 in China, Seven Network in Australia, TVNZ in New Zealand and Studio 23 in the Philippines have also licensed the movie.
Rich Ross who is Disney Channel Worldwide president said that “I am thrilled that broadcasters around the world are bringing to their viewers the stories, characters and music from this hit Disney Channel movie.”
High School Musical 2 US premiere in August broke Disney Channel ratings records with over 17 million viewers.
Its UK TV premiere pulled in 1.2 million individuals with an 8.4% audience share in multichannel homes.
