Although the All Blacks/New Zealand still hold the number one spot in the Rugby World Ranks, France are slowly lowering the gap. After their 20-18 defeat of the All Blacks on Saturday in the Rugby World Cup, they moved from fifth place up to the number two spot, with Australia moving down to the number five spot after their narrow defeat by Jonny Wilkinson‘s England, 12-10. This result also cemented England’s number six spot for the time being. This leaves the top six currently as follows:
1. Australia
2. France
3. South Africa
4. Argentina
5. Australia
6. England
